He was apparently expected. There was a tall blonde man holding a sign with his name on it. Sam went to the man and the man said that his father called him to take care of Sam for the day and send him back on a plane when the day was over. That gave Sam the time to get to the meeting and see what was going to happen.
Time passed and the man was driving Sam in a small black car. Sam had to switch into a business suit to look like he was supposed to be there. It was light gray with a gray tie.
Sam had to look his best at the meeting that way he didn't cause any attention towards himself. After having to stop to have Sam change, they were finally there.
Sam looked at the building. Just thinking that he is going to hear what they say is going to change the world. This made Sam start to get nervous.
"The buildings pretty intimidating, isn't it?" The driver said. "It always gets me. Don't worry. It'll be fine." His voice was soft and soothing.
Sam was thinking much bigger, but said sure just so he wouldn't have to talk about it. He got out of the car and said thanks. The driver gave him a card and said "Call me when your done. I'll drop you back off at the airport. Your dad said so."
Sam nodded as the guy drove off. The steps were small, but there was quite a lot of them. Sam went inside without any trouble.
After finding the perfect spot to go unnoticed by the crowd of people but still let the security be comfortable where he was, Sam sat down and waited for the meeting to start. After a minuet of waiting, an old man sat down in the circular room.
He had light gray hair and a beard. His seat was a bit more out unlike the row upon row of other seats.
His voice sounded weak but once he spoke any and all whispering stopped. "Now I know how all of you work. I know how this meeting will go so there is no point in trying to avoid it. I'll just cut the point. We are here today to discuss the future of Stun-Man. And as always, I have made a decision. I do not believe that Stun-Man should be trusted-"
As soon as he said that, everyone bursted out with their own opinions.
The old man tried to speak but everyone yelled over him. "Now now please settle down!" No one could hear him so he raised his voice which thundered over everyone. "WE ARE ADULTS! WE SHOULD BE ACTING LIKE IT!" Everyone quieted down after that.
"Now, we all know who goes first" he was interrupted by the man who was going to talk anyways.
"I agree with the statement. Stun-Man is a lunatic. There are plenty of reasons as to why we can't, and shouldn't, trust him."
A voice cried out "Name three!"
"Alright. For one, he where's a mask. He hasn't shown us his face to-"
"Don't you know anything about risks? If he shows his face, criminals will go after him. They will go after him and his family and friends."
Another voice came "That's another reason. The second reason is because he hasn't gotten approval from us to be a 'hero'."
"You shouldn't need a certificate to protect a city."
It was at this point all different voices came in. The old man spoke up.
"As it is true, you shouldn't need a certificate to protect and serve your home and citizens, but you really do. That way we can both count and trust him. You may continue."
"Finally, the power he has is an immanent threat. Power like that is too great a risk to ignore."
"And where would we be without him? We would have that monster of a man on our hands."
"That 'monster's' name was Ben-"
"We all know his name!"
"Then you should know that he escaped S.W.O.R.D. and was able to trash many of heavy machinery. The only way to actually hurt him was most likely nukular warheads. Without Stun-Man, he would probably still be alive. We owe him."
"That's just it though. If he has the power to kill someone with that power, he his too much a threat."
A new voice thundered over everyone else's. As the voice could heard, a man with a Tony Stark shave except more darker, walked through the same door Sam walked through and was standing making Sam a little nervous again.
"So your brilliant idea is to try and arrest him? You wanna try picking a fight with the worlds strongest man? What part of your dumb ass mind thinks that's a good idea?"
The old man starts to speak again, surprised. "Mr. Medol! I wasn't expecting to see you here."
"Yes old friend, I know. And even though I have retired and I look really younger than I should be, I felt like this was too big to watch." The man spoke with confidence. "Now I know that many of you don't know me, many of you hate my opinion, but I have more points to say than this room could cough down onto papers their own mothers gives them in their basement. But to cut to the chase, here are two. Sure, Stun-Man may be powerful. But who knows, there could be more people like him. They may not even be on the same side as him. That's why we need him. To help us deal with big threats.
He may be powerful. Maybe even powerful enough to start and end World War III in a heart beat, but I don't want to find out. If we start a fight with him, their will be casualties. We can blame it on him all we want but people will look at us and say we pushed him. If we just left him alone, no one would have to die. If we have him as our ally, we would have more fire power in our ranks than any other country. We could study him without threatening him for those who are still suspicious. He has saved countless lives and saved us hundreds of thousands of dollars. We need him."
There was silence. The old man spoke. "Well, since no one has anything else to add, who thinks we should trust him." More than half the room raised their hands. "Alright, cased closed. But it will be mandatory for us to have his word and/or an oath. I will take care of the time and place. Thank you all for coming." Concluded the old man.
Sam let out a sigh of relief as he called the driver to go home.
