Goodbye

One-shot

It was about three in the morning Paris time. Marinette and Tikki were asleep.

"RIIING!!! RIIING!!" Marinette was getting a phone call. She opened her eyes wondering who was calling her at 3 AM. She took a look at her phone to see who was calling. It was Adrien.

"Hello?" Marinette answered tiredly.

All of a sudden she heard loud sobbing coming from the phone.

"Adrien!! What's wrong?!?! Are you okay?!?"

"No! Can you come over?? There's something I need to talk to you about."

"Yeah, I'll be there in five minutes!!!" She hung up the phone.

"Tikki!! Wake up!!"

"What is it Marinette?" Tikki replied rubbing her eyes.

"I have to go to Adrien's house! Something's wrong!!"

"What's wrong with him??"

"I don't know he wouldn't tell me! Anyways, come on, let's go!!"

Marinette transformed into ladybug so she could get to Adrien faster.

She got to his bedroom window, which was open, and went through it. She didn't see Adrien. She detransformed and started to look.

"Adrien?" She called to him. "It's me, Marinette!"

Then, she saw his bathroom door open, so she walked in. She entered the bathroom to see blood on the floor. She looked up to see Adrien hysterically crying with blood all over his wrist which was dripping onto the floor.

"OH MY GOD ADRIEN!!" She ran to him without hesitation. Adrien was shocked to feel two arms wrapping around him tightly. This kinda calmed him down. After Marinette let go, she asked him why he did it.

"My dad... He... He..." Adrien started crying again. Marinette was able to calm him down so he could talk.

"Ok, ok, we don't have to talk about it right now, let's just focus on healing your wounds."

Marinette cleaned his cuts and bandaged them. By this time Adrien had completely calmed down.

She sat him on his bed and asked him if he was ready to talk. He nodded.

"Ok, so what did your dad do?" Marinette asked.

"He called me a disgrace to the Agreste family... And he told me.... He hated me. Then he said I might as well be dead. So I figured I'd make his wish come true." A tear rolled down his face.

Marinette wiped the tear off his face.

"Adrien, I'm so sorry to hear that. Don't listen to your dad. He's not right for telling you that. Don't worry about what he thinks. I love you."

"Thank you Marinette. I love you too." They kissed softly. When their lips departed, he asked her if she would stay with him for the night. Marinette nodded. They stayed up half of the night talking. Eventually, they fell asleep next to each other. The next morning, Adrien's dad walked in to most likely bad mouth him. When he saw Adrien and Marinette cuddled next to each other, he was outraged.

"ADRIEN AGRESTE!!!!" Adrien and Marinette both were woken up by his screaming.

Adrien was in shock.

"DAD I SWEAR ITS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!!"

"YEAH RIGHT!!! GET OUT WHOEVER YOU ARE!! I NEED TO HAVE A WORD WITH MY SON!!"

"Yes sir. But your son loves you. More than you think. And you're hurting him." Marinette said to Gabriel.

"I DONT CARE NOW BEAT IT BEFORE I CALL UP ADRIENS BODYGUARD TO SEND YOU OUT!!"

Marinette nodded and went home.

"ADRIEN WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING SLEEPING AROUND?!?!"

"FATHER I WASNT-"

"DO YOU THINK I WOULD BELIEVE SOMEONE WHO WOULDNT EVEN TELL ME THEY WERE SECRELY CHAT NOIR?!?! YES I SAW YOUR KWAMI!!"

"BUT- HOW WOULD YOU KNOW WHAT A KWAMI WAS UNLESS....."

"THATS RIGHT ADRIEN!! IM HAWKMOTH!! FOR ONCE YOU ACTUALLY FIGURED SOMETHING OUT!!"

Adrien sat there in shock for a minute.

"WIPE THAT STUPID LOOK OFF YOUR FACE BEFORE I DO IT FOR YOU!!" Gabriel shouted.

Adrien became angry.

"DO IT I DARE YOU!!!" Adrien yelled.

Suddenly, Gabriel punched Adrien in the eye and walked out of the room.

Adrien got up in shock and walked back to his bathroom to get the same knife he used the previous night.

Meanwhile, Marinette was walking home when Tikki flew out of her purse.

"Marinette, you need to go back to Adrien!! I just felt his Kwami. Adrien is in trouble."

Marinette ran to Adrien's house as fast as she could. She transformed so she could get to his bedroom window, then detransformed once she was in. She heard a scream come from the bathroom. She ran in to see a knife in Adrien's stomach. He was crying harder than he ever had.

"ADRIEN!!!"

Marinette ran to his aid. When she got to him, he collapsed to the ground.

"Adrien..."

"Marinette.."

"It's gonna be ok, I'll call an ambulance to come get you and-"

"Don't bother, it's too late."

"What.." Tears were rolling down Marinette's face.

"I'm glad I get to spend my last few seconds with you." Adrien pulled her to him so he could kiss her goodbye. Their lips were pressed together for a few seconds until Marinette felt Adrien pull away to say "I love you..." With his last breath. Then, his head fell back and his body went limp. He was dead.

"ADRIEN!!! NO COME BACK!!!" She shook him hard. She cried with all of her might, "ADRIEN!!!" But it was no use. Adrien Agreste was gone.
