Amethyst was born in the Earth. For all of her life, her long existence, she had lived on the hunk of rock, greenery, and humans. For many, many years, Amethyst lived alone in the prime Kindergarten, though she didn't like to see it that way. Her best friends were other rocks; not Gems, but just plain old rocks. Sometimes, she liked to act as though she was having adventures with her friends, battling evil rocks and mastering her whip skills.

Then came the day the Crystal Gems came to check on the Prime Kindergarten. Though Amethyst didn't like to admit it, she was in desperate need for friendship with other Gems. Despite that, Amethyst hid away from the Gems, watching as they dismissively kicked aside her friends, searching inside the holes in the walls for... well, at the time she didn't know what they were searching for, but now she was wiser. They were looking for other Quartz soldiers, to see if there were any remaining. Eventually, Amethyst came out of her hiding spot, and was welcomed warmly by the tall, pink haired Gem, Rose Quartz.

The Gems took her in, trained her, and taught her about her heritage. Amethyst had no idea that there were so many of her, or that there was a Gem Homeworld.

"Can we go there?," asked Amethyst eagerly looking up at Rose with huge, round eyes. Rose gave a soft laugh and squatted down to Amethyst's size.

"Sorry, Amethyst," she said patting her shoulder, "but we can't go there anymore." Amethyst cocked her head to the side and gave Rose a questioning look.

"But... why not?" Rose's eyes grew sad, and she stood up, gazing at the blue ocean.

"That's a story for another day," she whispered.
