Prologue
P.O.V.: 3rd Person
"Hey guys!" Nikki says, skipping joyfully to her table to friends in the coffee shop.
"Hey Nikki!" Their hushed wispers ceasing as she advanced twards them. Nikki took no notice of it, continuing to settle down on her boyfriend, Liam's lap, and pecked him on his lips. She wouldn't let it spoil the briliant mood she was having.
"I have AMAZING news, Liam," she said, giddy with excitement.
"What is it, Babe?" He asked. What could she possibly have to tell him?
I'm pregnant!" She practically screamed in his ear.
"Wait. What. How. It's not possible, your on birthcontrol! How are you possibly excited!?!?!?!?!?" He said in a shrill, panicy voice. Nikki's face dropped. He didn't want a baby with her. Feeling her eyes start to water, she got up and ran out of the warm, heated air of the coffee shop and into the freezing cold December air, ingoring the calls of liam and their friends. How could he say that to her? They were supposed to get married. But she guessed that this must be fate's cruel, cold hearted way of punnishing her for abandoning her true mate. Sighing to herself, Nikki debated to whether to try to raise the child on her own or get an abortion. Life on the road was tough. Since Nikki was always moving, it is hard for her to get work anywhere. Without financial support from the father, it would be hard to take care of a baby. So she had to go get an abortion. Heading slowly in the direction of the abortion clinic, she started to think about what she was about to do. She was about to kill an already living human being just to make sure she stayed financially stable. She stopped walking. Killing a little innocent, no matter how poorly timed, was not an option. She would persevere for her unborn child. She would not abandon her child like her mate had. Maybe, if she was lucky her true mate would take her back. All she could do was hope that Alexander still loved her.
