My eyes fixed on the wall ahead although it was too dark to see it properly. There was a window on the wall, but thick clouds covered the stars and the moon that night. Seungcheol rustled the sheets as he tossed in his sleep.
A sigh of exasperation escaped my lips as my head dropped. This situation wasn't one I had planned, wanted, or needed.

Earlier in the day, everything was playing out well. I was packed, trying, and struggling, to shove all of my luggage into the trunk of my car, eventually sitting on the lid to shut it. Quickly, I locked it, walked around, and slid into the drivers seat.
The ultimate destination was a large cabin owned by a friend of mine. They offered me an invitation to stay a few nights for a getaway, and I obviously accepted. It was mentioned that a few other people would be there along with the two of us to enjoy the secluded area, but I had nothing against this.
Little did I know.
Music blasted through my stereo the entire way up to the cabin to distract me from thinking to much about the slick roads. The day before, it had snowed for the first time this winter, and it had snowed hard. Everything had melted on the roads, but had left some slick ice and piles of snow that dominated the sides of the road.
Eventually, I reached the cabin, climbing up a steep hill covered in snow. I'm sure the snow on the hill would have been lovely to look at from far away, but when your tires are almost stuck in it, the scenery becomes less appealing.
I breathed a sigh of relief as soon as I reached the top and could see the cabin insight.
My car rolled down the long drive way. There was a gate that opened magically as I approached. Down further, I parked next to a few familiar cars. Cautiously, I unlocked my trunk, afraid of what may come flying out at me.
The moment my bag hit the ground, a shout came from the house.
"Hey! Welcome!" Jihyo shouted from the porch. She waved an arm in the air and I gently waved back.
The cabin was much larger than expected. The whole thing was a deep coffee brown color, a drastic opposite to the pure white of the snow. There were a few pine green accents here and there, as if to try and camouflage it with the surrounding trees.
Cold air froze my face, turning my nose and ears pink, but I appreciated it. The area around me was so secluded and peaceful. The gentle snow covered the ground in a fresh blanket making me smile.
I marched my way forward, and Jihyo hugged me as soon as I reached the door, "I'm so glad you could make it!" her enthusiasm making it all the more welcoming, "It really is a nice place and can you believe all the snow?"
I just smiled and nodded as she spoke, "It's so serene."
She kindly took my bag, leading me inside. The entire place was nicely furnished and had a deep purple and red color scheme lighting up the room. A TV showed a drama, which quickly changed to a variety show. Backs of heads poked up over the couch as I passed and tried to identify them. The carpet squished down under my shoes.
I trailed Jihyo down a hallway and up a flight of stairs. Upstairs was just as charming, and included bedrooms. She showed me into the large one on the end.
"And this one is going to be yours! Sorry it smells a bit dusty, my family hasn't visited in a while."
I stepped in, taking in the quaint room. It had a queen sized bed covered in unnecessary throw pillows that I adored.
A smile grew on my face as I turned to Jihyo, "It's lovely, Jihyo. I'm really excited to stay."
Her already bright aura lit up even more, "That's so great to hear. I think you're the last one to arrive, so now it's relax time." she grinned and slipped out the door to head downstairs.
