It's time

*Jack's POV*
'Thanks Conor', Chloe says to him as we pull up outside.
He pulls her in for a hug and gives me a quick fist bump.
'Don't worry Chloe, you'll be fine', he tells her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
I smile at him, and he winks back.
'Right, here we are!', I say, looking up at the tall, white clinic.
'Jack, I...', Chloe begins.
'Chloe baby please, I know you're scared, it's going to be alright', I say, kissing both her hands.
I bring her in for a hug and feel how much she's trembling.
My poor girl,
I feel awful making her come but it's for her own good.
We walk inside hand in hand, and are greeted by a smile from the young receptionist.
'Hello! Welcome to the oasis dental clinic, can I take your names?', she says enthusiasticly.
'Jack Maynard and Chloe Wheeler', I tell her.
'Ahh take a seat in the waiting room, it's just through there', she tells us, pointing to a room on the right.
*Chloe's POV*
Well, I made it here.
Jack stands up and passes me a magazine.
The waiting room is actually quite nice, it's very modern with white sofas, looking more like a lounge than a waiting room.
'You alright?', Jack asks me, he looks concerned.
I nod slowly, which is honestly far from the truth.
I feel the panic bubbling up inside me and I try to keep it in. I can't have another panic attack in front of Jack. This would be my third time.
He deals with it so well, he's so gentle and caring with me.
'Jack Maynard and Chloe Wheeler?', a smiley nurse calls into the room.
This is it, it's time.
I feel the panic bubbling inside me, I can't breathe.
'Jack, Jack, it's happening, I can't...', I say quickly.
'Chloe, look at me princess, hold my hands, breathe deeply', he says '1,2,3 in, 1, 2, 3 out'
I look deeply into his eyes, clutching his hands for dear life.
I see him put his hand up to the nurse, just to show that we needed a minute.
*Jack's POV*
It's been about ten minutes and Chloe's calmed down now.
'You ready gorgeous?', I ask her, my hand around her shoulders, protecting her.
'I think so, let's get it over'

We walk into the room and we're greeted by a woman.
'Hi, you must be Jack and Chloe?'
'Yeah that's us, hiya', I say to her.
'Right let's get the check up started! I've been told Chloe gets nervous before check ups, is that correct', She asks Chloe gently.
'Yeah haha', Chloe replies and blushes.
'So who's going first?', she asks with a happy smile.
'I guess that's me!', I say with a grin, giving Chloe's hand a quick squeeze.
I sit in the chair and recline back. Chloe's sat on one side of me, the dentist on the other.
'Open wide', she tells me, and I do as instructed.
She looks around my mouth with her mirror, occasionally scraping some of my teeth with an instrument, which is pretty uncomfortable, but I don't flinch, for Chloe's sake.
'All done! You have perfect teeth Mr Maynard, I'm very impressed!', she tells me.
'Thankyou very much, I take good care of them', I say with a laugh.
'Chloe', she asks, 'are you ready?'
Chloe gives me a weak smile and climbs into the chair.
She gets lowered back and gives a deep breath.
'I'll be here all the time, don't forget that. I'm so proud of you baby girl', I whisper into her ear.
'Right let's have a look shall we? remember you can put your hand up at any time and I'll stop. Open wide!', the doctor tells her.
She does as instructed and I'm at a good enough angle to see inside her mouth. Overall, her teeth are pretty good but straight away I see a few small holes in her molars.
The dentist is having a good poke around with her tools, scraping her teeth, and I can tell she uncomfortable.
I stroke her arm to try to relax her.
Dr Low is having a poke around with her tool, and when she puts the sharp bit inside a small hole in Chloe's tooth she flinches and puts her hand up.
'Okay, so we're gonna have to fill a couple of cavities today! and unfortunately we have an extraction to do too', she tells Chloe, as gently as she can.
Chloe sighs. My poor girl. She's being so brave, bless her.
The doctor gets everything ready and I watch willingly because I'm actually really interested in dentistry, it was gonna be my career path if YouTube didn't work out!
Everything's ready for the procedure so it's time to start...
