The cold wind ruffle the silver she-cats fur as she looked out onto the lake, which was reflecting the beautiful moonlight. Her ears turned to the sound of a cat approaching her,  crackling the frozen snow-covered leaves. "Greyleap." She mewed. "What brings you here?" The grey tom padded up to her side and sat down, wincing at the coldness of the snow. "Well, you know, I can't sleep." Greyleap gave his chests a couple of licks before asking, "What about you, Featherstream?" She shook her head. "Me either. The snow keeps falling on my fur." Suddenly, a crack sounded above them, making them look up to see a large tree tipping over, which would certainly bring a large heap of snow tumbling down with it. "What do we do?" Greyleap was shaking with fear. "We can't go any direction. As soon as it falls, it'll bring down some other trees, too, and they're too fat for us to climb over." His yellow-amber eyes were clouded with worry. Thoughts seemed to race throughout Featherstream's mind. "We jump into the lake," she replied at last, her claws dug into the snow. Greyleap immediately jumped up to his paws. "Are you mouse-brained?!" Hissing through clenched teeth, he sent up a flurry of snow with angry swipes of his tail. "Am I a mouse-brain for trying to save our lives? It's the only way!" The tree came down closer, leaving it hanging ten fox-lengths above them. Clenching her muscles, Featherstream said, "On the count of three. One.. two.. three!" Both cats jumped into the icy-cold water. "It's freezing!" Greyleap yowled a few tails away. "I.. can't.. breathe!" The silver warrior started to drift down to the depths of the bottom. This is it, she thought. The end.

Sharp teeth grabbed her scruff. "Greyleap?" She whispered silently underneath the almost-frozen lake. "Keep your head up, and move your paws like this." Featherstream's Clanmate's paws moved in a smooth rythm. Copying his moves, she managed to breathe air - finally. When they got back to shore, encountering more freezing things, both of their breaths were out-of-wack. "Greyleap! Featherstream!" A familiar voice echoed their thoughts. A calico she-cat came up to them. "Leafdapple!" Another voice called - it was Oakstar, the leader. The brown tabby ran up to the cats sitting by the shore. "What in the name of StarClan?" He asked, horrified at the sight of seeing his medicine cat and warriors out at night in the middle of the coldest time of the year. "They fell in the lake." Leafdapple replied, licking their fur to keep them warm. "I'll take care of them. Now go back to sleep." She flicked her tail, telling the leader to go to his warm, mossy nest. "It'll be alright."
