The Book of 20 Dares

prologue

First off, I would like to say that this story is COMPLETELY fictional. There are going to be some very weird things in this story that couldn't possibly happen in real life so keep in mind that this is fiction. Also, if you don't like creepy and disturbing things I advise you don't read this because it's a really freaking weird story, haha.

Second, I know people have taken my story and posted it on different websites and whatnot but I am the ORIGINAL writer of The Book of 20 Dares. No matter how many versions of this story you have read I posted the original one back in 2012. You can believe whomever you'd like but I am the original author of this story and it was written by ME and only ME. All of my old readers will know this is my story, and if you are new to my story, welcome. I am Kyrsten Michelle, it's nice to meet you. Now that we got that out of the way, here is the new and improved prologue of The Book of 20 Dares.  -km

"There has to be a way out of this! I can't live like this Harry! This book controls me and I don't know if I can ever get out of this." Kadie sobs uncontrollably in Harry's strong arms as he rubs soothing circles into her back. 

"Shhh, it's okay Kadie. We'll find a way out of this." Harry's voice calms her down a bit, but the sobs keep rolling out of her. 

"I'm scared Harry. I'm so scared. I live in fear, everything is so unpredictable and I have no idea who's gonna be next. What if I'm next Harry?" She's frantic now, her breathing speeding up as she looks up at the curly headed boy who seems like the only thing in her life that's keeping her sane, but her sanity is slowly fading away with each day. 

"You're not next. You're never going to be next Kadie. I'm going to protect you." He's trying his hardest to stop her from having another panic attack, but he could see that she's slowly falling apart in his arms. 

She shakes her head frantically, attempting to push him away but her tiny frame is no match for his strong hold. "You can't! You can't protect me anymore! This..this thing is evil Harry! It's inhuman! It will hurt you too! It's not going to stop until it has me! Just stop trying to protect me!"

Harry's eyes are fogged with tears threatening to spill over onto his cheeks. He knows they're not safe. He knows that each day they live is a day closer to the end. But he refuses to believe this thing, whatever the hell it is that came with the book Kadie found, will be the end of them. He will find a way out, and he's gonna try like hell to find that way out. For her. For them.

Okay sorry if that was shit and it was really short, there's more of the authors note than the actual prologue but it was supposed to be a small excerpt so yeah. I'll post the first chapter tomorrow. I also decided that this will be a Harry Styles fan fiction. It used to be a One Direction fan fiction when I first wrote it but I have new ideas for this story and it will be considerably different than the last version. The boys will be featured in it, but it revolves around Kadie and Harry now. Also, the dares are going to be different, and it's overall gonna be different. I figured I should just write a new story so the old readers won't know what ends up happening in the end. I hope you enjoy this story, I have big things planned.
