Chapter 1

"Mina what the heck are you doing? Cassie is already waiting outside!"

Sigaw sa akin ng mama ko habang hinihitsa sa akin ang mga damit na ewan ko kung kanino.

"What are you glaring at?! Mina ano ba? I only ask you for a favor and that is to be nice to Cassie ayaw mo pang gawin? You should be thankful that they kep--"

"Enough" I said as I stand up and unwillingly grabbed the dress she's offering to me.

"Ma magbibihis na ako okay? You can leave now, hindi mo naman na ako kailangang bantayan!" Inis kong reklamo sa kanya nang hindi pa din sya umaalis sa kinatatayuan nya

Napabuntonghininga nalang sya. "You and your temper" she tsked before leaving my room.

Cassie is attending a party but since she's still a minor her dad wants me to accompany her, like seriously?! I'm only a year older than her and did it ever occur to them that I'm not the outgoing type?! Even more the caring type, his daughter can die in there but the hell I care! I still don't like them that much even if they're super nice to us

The truth is, freeloaders lang kami sa bahay nila. After my Papa died our business died too resulting to our bankruptcy.

We literally went from Prada to Nada, just when I thought that we'll die poor my mom met his "long lost love" in the form of Tito Stan.

Months after my dad died Tito Stan asked my permission to marry my mother, matagal na din daw kasing namatay ang asawa nya.

I tried to object, yes he may be nice , sincere and really inlove with my mother but no one can replace my father ofcourse.

They considered my opinion and decided to postpone their wedding but my mom just wouldn't let my mind at peace.

She didn't talk to me for months, she became especially distant and matampuhin. And I always hear her cry everynight.

So after a year of pure pain and agony I finally set them free, Ayoko namang maging kontrabida sa fairytale nila kaya ayun. Besides, mukha naman talaga sincere si Tito Stan na first boyfriend pala ni Mama dati.

They planned their wedding and Tito Stan introduced me to his daughter, my supposed to be stepsister.

She's a year younger than me and we're the total opposite. Katulad na katulad sya ni Cinderella, she's nice, friendly and very pretty kaya lang she'll be stucked with me, her evil stepsister.

Tito Stan provided for us well. The luxuries that we have before we became poor returned to us. Hindi nga lang sobra-sobra kasi kahit mayaman sila hindi talaga sila maluho, they're very humble.

Naging okay naman ang unang buwan ng pagtira namin sa kanila kahit sa ulit-ulit akong pinapagalitan ni Mama. She wants to be friends with Cassie kahit na ayoko. She's too nice for me and everytime na magkasama kami lalo ko lang nare-realize kung gaano ako kasama.

She's genuinely nice kaya mas lalo akong naiinis sa kanya, she felt too surreal, paano nya nagagawang maging mabait sa mga taong hindi naman nya kilala? Bakit ang bait nya sa mga taong nakikihati sa pagmamahal ng Daddy nya?

She the innocent gem and I'm afraid that one day I will do something that might break her.

" Mina! What took you so long? Let's go!" Excited nyang sinabi sa akin sabay hila sa loob ng sasakyan

She looked pretty tonight, mukhang pinaghandaan nya talaga ang party mamaya. She's wearing a little white dress that made her look more angelic. She even curled her hair and put on a light make-up, which she rarely do. And she can't sit still as she excitedly hum a song on our way to the party. She looked happy and I can't help but smile a little.
