I have fallen in love

I have fallen into a hopeless

Maddening love

The kind of love that awakens butterflies in your stomach

And sends tremors to your fingertips

Oh!

Oh I have fallen in love!

And silly old me

Simply being myself!

I have fallen in love with a story!

The story of a madman in a box

An impossible girl

And a river and a pond

The story of a sad man

All alone in his head

With a cheerful doctor by him

And a pathologist on the side

The story of a boy with a scar

And a man with no name

And a red head and a bright girl

With a fat orange cat

And a world of witches and wizards

Oh!

Oh I have fallen in love!

I have fallen in love with the story of a boy whose name is a number

And a girl who is brave and selfless

Living in a world divided

The story of a bird

Who had the courage to defy her rulers and fly

And love a baker

And her best friend

The story of a host

And the voices she hears from her victim

And the love she feels for a boy she's never met

And I pity the man!

The man who can read

But chooses not to!

Oh how I pity thee!

For he is blind to the worlds that sit patiently

Collecting dust

And I pity the girl

Who couldn't read a single word

Oh how I wish I could teach her

And open her eyes to those worlds!

But above all else

I pity the person who reads

But who's eyes are not opened

The one who doesn't see

The raw emotion and pain

That surrounds the tales

But until the boy and the girl read

And the blind person can see

I will continue my Great Romance

My never ending romance

With the printed words

And fictitious characters

And other worlds

Oh how I have fallen in love!
