The freckles. The eyes. The jawline, everything. Castiel had no idea what it was like to feel love, but Dean had shown him. He loved Deans freckles, Deans eyes, Deans jawline, everything about Dean. He loved the fact that Dean was so tough and so manly except when they were alone, when he would ask him on a date, and whisper sweet things to him, and he would love Castiel with all he had. Castiel knew that the reason for him being a tough guy that didn't show as much affection when around other people wasn't because he was embarrassed but it was because he though that Sammy still needed a strong, manly role model. Castiel loved it, every moment he spent with Dean was heaven.
So of course, after three years of being together, on their anniversary when Dean got down on one knee at the first diner they went to, Castiel said yes.
"I'll have the double bacon burger please." Dean said, lowering his head to make it seem like he was trying to decide on a drink, knowing flat out what he was going to order. "And a beer please." Castiel ordered the same thing, except instead of beer he ordered a sprite. Dean seemed... fidgety and it didn't slip by Castiel.
"Dean, whats wrong?" Castiel urged Dean to tell him. Dean sucked a deep breath in, denying anything was wrong. when their food came, Castiel noticed a sparkle in the bottom of his glass. he took a nearby spoon, fishing it out of the glass, just then he noticed a ring. surprised, he started to say something but was cut off when dean got down on his knee.
"Castiel, I know you, and I-I know that four years ago you would- would never have been able to comprehend love, and I-I know losing your wings sucked for you but let me tell you something. It was the best damn thing that ever happened to me, and I know that-that that's a douche-like thing to say, but if it hadn't of happened, you would have never fallen in love with me. Maybe going to-" Dean stumbled for a moment, slowing himself down. "-hell was the best though, because I got you out of it. Maybe everything we've been through is the- the sign I've been waiting for, the sign to settle down. And- And" Dean was starting to stumble again, tripping over his words and his hands shaking. Castiel took Dean's hand in his and nodded for him to continue, boosting his confidence just enough. "And I couldn't picture a life without you in it. Marry Me?"Dean finished, His cheeks going crimson, making his freckled face pop out. Castiel answered Dean by simply pulling him up to standing point, putting his hand on his cheek and kissing him. It was nothing like their first kiss, which had been so perfectly imperfect with ragged breathing and rushed kissing. This one was slow, and tender. This one had controlled breathing and this one was full of more love than ever expected by the two of them. The few people in the bar cheered around them, and joy filled both of their hearts. When they pulled away, Castiel looked down, and muttered in his low, gravelly voice "Yes. Of course, Dean." And as Dean slid the ring onto Castiel's finger, they both knew that for the rest of their most likely short lives, they would be partners in crime.
That night, as Dean drove to the bunker Castiel wouldn't stop murmuring the things he was going to do to Dean into his ear, and although Dean was an amazing driver he found himself swerving while Castiel whispered to him.
"When we get home, i'm going to pin you up against a wall and fuck you until You can't remember you name." That was the last straw, and Dean pulled baby over, and climbed on top of Castiel's lap, just barely able to find him in the dark of the night.
"Why don't instead you fuck me right here, right now?" They had a long night ahead of them, and as Sam sat at home, crying watching bachelor and eating ice cream, Dean and Castiel were finally happy.
