“Adrian wake up,” I said, shaking him gently. He moaned loudly and turned over in the seat which was now covered in dry blood.

“Where am I?” he asked, blinking a few times.

“At your apartment. There’s no way I can get you there by myself. You’ll have to help me.”

He nodded and slowly started to sit up in the chair. I was amazed by how little pain his face was showing even though any person in his situation would be crying.

I hurried to the side of his car and opened the door. He stumbled forward and caught himself on the edge of the door before falling into the gravel.

The distance from his car to the apartment door was only about twenty feet but it felt like the longest walk ever. I used all of my strength to hold up his tall frame while he focused on walking. Thank goodness no one was outside. Seeing this would’ve made anyone call the paramedics, police, or both.

“The golden key next to my car clicker is the one to my apartment,” he whispered.

I set his body against the wall and quickly open the door, pulling both of us inside. Natural light was shining through the half-open windows so I didn’t waste anytime taking him to the back of the apartment.

“Bathroom?” I asked, taking a deep breath. All this lifting today was really killing me.

His sweat-drenched brown hair shifted to the left as he gestured towards a white door. I kicked it open and heaved his large body on the edge of the bathtub. He leaned against the wall and pulled a towel off the shower curtain, attempting to clean some blood off his face.

“That’s not going to work. Give it to me,” I said, pulling the towel out of his hand. Despite the injuries he had, Adrian still had the energy to give me a scowl. I just tolled my eyes and walked over to the sink, wetting the towel under some hot water.

After his initial tantrum, Adrian didn’t say another word as I cleaned him up. To say that he was bleeding would be an understatement. There was so much of the copper liquid everywhere that it took me quite a while to have him looking normal again.

He had even taken off his shirt and there were deep gashes on his torso. I had put asied all thoughts of seeing my teacher with no clothes on and just made sure that he was taken care of.

“Stay here for one second,” I ordered, throwing the towel in the corner. He made some kind of noise that sounded like a yes so I left the bathroom.

It took only a few seconds to find his bedroom. I pushed the door open and paused briefly. This was crazy. Here I am, in my teacher’s house, cleaning up blood from an attack I witnessed, and staring at his neat bed.

“You’re screwed Elizabeth,” I mumbled to myself.

With a quick shake of my head, I walked over to his dressers and started rummaging through. It took a few minutes but I pulled out a pair of sweatpants and white shirt.

“Adrian?” I asked, knocking on the door.

“Hmm?”

He was now sitting upright and looking at me with different emotions flitting behind his green eyes. The one I recognized right away was anger. He was more than just a little upset. The way his eyes went dark told me that he was furious.

I ignored the looks and walked in, handing him his clothes. He angrily threw on the shirt and winced in pain.

‘Serves him right,’ I thought.

“Wait let me leave!” I shouted, holding both hands up. He had started taking off his pants without even looking at me.

“Relax, I wear boxers.”
