Really love the song above... it doesn't really "scream" Cristiano and Ava, but I like it a lot. So in the last chapter, we get a glimpse into Ava's gutsy side ;D Keep on reading and voting!

My eyes fluttered open to the blinding sunlight. I groaned and tried to lean back but realized that I was in a seat. My vision finally focused in on Cristiano with one hand on the wheel. I must have fallen asleep... the last thing I remembered was leaning against his shoulder.

"Good morning," he announced.

I stretched my arms up and yawned embarrassingly loud.

"Where are we?" I croaked.

"Heading back to the estate. We fell asleep last night and I woke up around 6 this morning and got you into the car."

I sat up in my seat and cracked my neck. His hair was incredibly tousled and sticking up in every direction, it was very hard not to laugh. I covered my mouth and he looked over suspiciously.

"What?"

I shook my head, trying to keep the giggles inside.

"Your hair," I giggled.

He ran a hand through his hair but that only made it worse.

I turned the radio on and "Closer" by the Chainsmokers was playing.

"So, baby, pull me closer
In the back seat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of that mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain't ever getting older!" I sang quietly to myself as we drove along.

Italian meatball kept one eye on me as I quietly sang the lyrics and I pretended not to notice.

"I like that song," he said. "What is it?"

"You've never heard the Chainsmokers before?" I asked and he shook his head.

"I don't listen to American music much, I prefer Italian opera, it calms me."

The cold-blooded criminal sitting next to me listened to opera...? Well, that'd be a story for the grandkids

"Have you ever heard "Vesta la giubba?" It's my favorite, my Nonno used to always sing it to us."

"No, what does it mean?" I asked.

"Put on the coat," he said. "Nonno always said that it was about a cowardly clown, I'm not really sure why he sang it all the time, but he did." He laughed.

"Was he in the mafia too?"

"Yes. My family has been in the mafia for hundreds of years. Ava, you have to realize that not all mafia men are bad, my Nonno wouldn't hurt a fly, he was the most gentle man I've ever known. Now, enough about that, we're almost there."

"Is it safe now?"

He nodded and turned onto the dirt road that led to the estate.

"My men have searched and secured the area so yes, it's safe."

He parked the car and Jack came out the front door followed by another man.

"Boss, the area is secured and there have been no casualties so far," Jack reported and Cristiano gave him a curt nod. The man behind Jack couldn't have been more than twenty, he still wasn't as buff as the other men but he was very tall.

"Boss, this is Antonio's new assistant, Rocco."

Rocco stuck out his hand and Cristiano stared at it for a moment before shaking it slowly.
