I was visiting my hometown for the first time in years. When I first arrived, I spent a few minutes just sitting in the small park in between the first elementary school I had ever went to and my old house. It was referred to as "The Triangle" by my family that used to live in that area.
The stage where I saw a Halloween puppet show when I was 7 had been fixed up a little, but it still looked the same as I remembered. I walked over to the large tree right by it and felt its bark.
"Stop molesting the tree" A familiar voice said. I turned and saw one of my best friends, Autumn.
"Oh my god! Autumn? I haven't seen you in forever!" I said.
"Are you still against hugs?" She asked.
"Yeah but you can hug me this time si-" before I could finish my sentence, she began squeezing the life out of me.
"ENOUGH. CAN'T. BREATHE." I gasped, struggling to get out of her strong grip.
"Sorry about that. Hey, did you even grow at all since we last saw each other?" Autumn asked.
"Will you leave me alone about my height? I've accepted the fact that I'm 5 feet tall and I won't grow anymore." I crossed my arms.
"Oh. Do you want to come with me to get lunch?" She asked.
"Sure," I said. "I forgot to eat today."
"How do you forget to eat?"
"Wow we have alot to catch up on"
