We arrived at Whitechapel and walked to the scene of the crime. Quite honestly, we stuck out a bit from everyone else there. It was a bit unnerving to get all those hateful glances from the crowd around us as we made our way through. I shook it off and assumed it was just paranoia. None of these people would hurt us. I hope.
In front of the tunnel where the girl was murdered stood Abberline holding some papers, probably case details. Ciel walked up to him and cleared his throat to get Abberline's attention
"What brings you here?" Abberline asked, looking up from his documents. "This is no place for a child. Go on home." He waved Ciel off.
"Where is the victim's corpse?" Ciel asked, boredom lining his voice.
"Corpse?! What are you saying?!" Abberline retorted.
"Abberline!" A deep voice came from the tunnel, reverberating off the walls. Abberline looked back to see his higher up and shuffled aside. "What are you doing here, Lord Phantomhive?"
"You know him?" Abberline asked.
Ciel paid Abberline's question no mind. "I came to clean up after the slow-moving hounds working this case," Ciel lifted the Queen's letter, "Sir Arthur Randall." Arthur scoffed and Ciel took the paperwork from Abberline, earning a few shocked gasps from the crowd, and looked through what they had. "It looks as if you haven't got many clues."
Arthur took the paperwork back from Ciel. "We of the Scotland Yard will solve this case. We don't need your interference."
Ciel gave them a small smile as if he was amused by his statement. "Excellent. Let's go, Sebastian."
Sebastian responded with a quick "Yes, my lord." And followed after. I opened my mouth to say something, then shut it and shrugged, following after them and waving a quick goodbye.
When we made it back over to Madame Red, Grell, and Lau, Madame Red asked, "What will you do?"
"The best thing would probably be to visit him," Ciel responded.
"My lord! You don't mean..." Lau said, seeming quite concerned.
"Indeed I do," Ciel responded.
(( Quick cut to the Undertaker because who cares about awkwardly silent carriage rides! ))
We stood in front of the Undertaker's building. I took a deep breath, and silently prayed he wouldn't recognize me when I walked in. Or when he popped out of a coffin.
Lau turned to Ciel. "So... where are we?"
Madame Red turned to Lau, and rather loudly, said, "You just spoke as if you knew all about it, didn't you?!"
"It's a funeral parlor run by an acquaintance of the young master's," Sebastian explained.
"The Undertaker?" Madame Red questioned. No one bothered to answer.
Sebastian opened the door and we filed inside. The place was still covered wall-to-wall with coffins and the creepy heart jars were still on the counter.
"Are you here, Undertaker?" Ciel asked, his voice slightly resonating in the emptiness.
"I thought you'd drop by before long." A voice came out from one of the coffins, it was low and alluring. While Sebastian, Ciel, and I paid it no mind, Madame Red, Lau, and Grell shuffled nervously and looked around the funeral parlor. One of the coffins began to slide open and Grell jumped, falling to the floor.
"Welcome, my lord. Is today the da-" Undertaker stopped speaking. Oh god. He's seen me. "Ah, you have brought the little gift I sent you! It is good to see you again. Maybe you'll be more willing to get into one of my coffins?
