Sagwa was staring out the window of the car when the guy who was clearly a hunter working for Jack pulled up in front of a deserted little cabin in the middle of the woods.
He turned to her, "Don't move."
Sagwa watched as he got out, closed the door and walked slowly around to her side.
He paused briefly before opening the door.
Sagwa stared straight ahead, unmoving.
"Well get out!"
Sagwa turned, staring daggers at him, "Fuck you." She spat into his face.
He reached into the car and roughly grabbed her by the back of the head, his fingers entwining in her long black hair, and pulled her out.
Sagwa hadn't been expecting that and he was so rough that she didn't have much time to do anything, or save herself from the rough landing as she stumbled and fell to the dusty ground.
He let go of her, "Get up."
Sagwa coughed and stood up, rubbing her hands on her jeans, her palms were bleeding from the grazes that the stones had made.
Sagwa noted the gun in the hunters waistband, "So, you're dear old Jack's lacky."
"Not like you weren't."
Sagwa sighed, "Well I'm not anymore, that's the point. You gonna kill me?"
He looked at her then looked away, "That's the job I've been given," he looked at her with no emotions on his face, "And I always get my jobs done."
"Ninety-nine percent delivery rate of heads, then?" Sagwa knew there was only one way for her to get out of this and she hated that.
He shook his head, "A hundred and ten."
Sagwa smiled somewhat smugly, "Well, I'm sorry to beat your unbeaten streak."
He looked momentarily confused, and that second was all Sagwa needed to let her hybrids take over and have full control.
As much as she hated giving into the curse, she had no other choice if she wanted to survive.

**********

Gabe was finishing packing the last of the supplies from the lab.
Red and Em had just taken the last of the boxes out to the van.
Em came back in alone.
Gabe looked up briefly, then returned to packing, he and Em hadn't exactly been on the best of terms after he cheated on Sagwa with her, only to realize he still loved Sagwa.
Em put her hands in her pockets, "So, um, how sure are you that Sagwa will be back?"
"She'll be back."He didn't bother looking up.
"That guy looked pretty mean, Gabe,"She closed the distance between them and put her hand over his, "Gabe, its hard, but you have to prepare yourself for the worst."
Gabe looked up, meeting her eyes, "Sagwa will be back. I know her."
Em hugged him, "I hope you're right, Gabes."
"Am I interrupting something?"
They jumped apart to see Sagwa standing in the doorway looking rather beat up.
Gabe's mouth fell, "God, are you okay?"
Sagwa nodded.
Gabe went to her, going to hug her, but she held up her hand, indicating him not to even try it.
"You look terrible, what happened?"Asked Em.
Sagwa sighed and lent against the door frame, "He was gonna kill me. I did what I had to to get away."
Red ran to them, freezing at the sight of Sagwa; her black jeans were torn in places, she had a bruise on her face, along with a graze and split lip. Her arms had some cuts on them and she was covered in sand.
He dived forward and wrapped his arms around her, "Sagwa, thank god. I didn't. . . Are you okay?"
Sagwa held him tightly and only nodded.
Gabe frowned, "Red, why were you running?"
"I think we should hurry up and leave, I have a bad feeling."
Gabe grabbed the box he had just finished packing, "Let's go."

**********

Sagwa sat with her legs up against her chest with her arms wrapped tightly around them as she looked out at the lake.
They had turned Gabes family lake house into a make shift lab and hideout for now.
She heard footsteps and when she turned she saw Em.
"Sagwa?"Her voice was tentative, as if she expected Sagwa to attack her at any point.
Well, with Sages, it was a possibility.
Sagwa blinked, slightly surprised, "Yeah, what's up?"
Emily apparently took this as a go ahead for her to sit because she sat down cross legged next to Sagwa on the edge of the wooden pier.
"Are you okay?"
Sagwa shrugged.
Emily sighed, "Sagwa, I may not be your favourite person, but I'm trying my best to help. And you may think I'm a dumb bimbo, but I saw the look in your eyes earlier. What happened?"
Sagwa shook her head, "Nothing."
Em raised an eyebrow, "You had an empty look in your eyes. A defeated look. Did you kill him?"
Sagwa sighed, "I turned. I needed the strength to fight him. I didn't kill him though, just left him with some wounds."
Emily nodded and didn't say anything.
The silence was deafening.

 **********

Darla frowned, "Jack."
Jack looked up from his desk, "What?"
"Its sorted. Miss Brays won't be a problem; I've sent someone to kill her."
"How? I thought she didn't die." He asked, already losing interest and going back to the papers on his desk.
Darla smiled, ''Decapitation. And then you burn the head."
Jack smiled, "Sounds charming."
Darla's laughed, "Of course, dear.''
"Are you sure she's out of the picture for good?"
Darla frowned, "Yes, Jack, I told you I'd fix it, don't tell me you're starting to doubt me."
Jack smiled, "I made the right decision when I hired you, Darla. You're good at what you do."
Darla folded her hands on her lap, "Yes I am. Don't forget that."
She wished he would start seeing her as more than his hired help, but she was confident that in time, he would.

 **********

Sagwa was in her house. Her foster mother had just come home.
"Sagwa, why are you packing?"
"I'm leaving. Look, I appreciate everything you guys have done for me, but its dangerous for me to stay here. Not for me, but for you guys and Trisha."
Trisha was her foster sister, she was only three and she adored Sagwa. Sagwa wasn't going to let something happen to them because of her.
Her foster mother, Delilah, sighed, "Sagwa, Frank's going to be crushed that you're just leaving like this."
Sagwa knew that he knew a lot more about her life then Delilah, "He'll understand. He'll make you understand too, ok? I'm just going to go say goodbye to Trish, and then I'm gone. I was never here, ok?"
Deliliah nodded and Sagwa went into Trisha's room.
The little blond girl was sitting at her table having a tea-party with her toys.
She looked up and smiled at Sagwa, "You going to have tea with us?"
Sagwa smiled, biting back tears, "No, sweetie. I have to go, I came to say bye." \
Trish frowned, "Where you going?"
Sagwa went to her and crouched so she could hug her, "Far away."
"Are you coming back?"
Sagwa pulled back and kissed her on the head, "One day. Don't forget me, ok, angel?"
Trish waved when Sagwa walked out.
Sagwa didn't say goodbye to Delilah, she simply snuck out the back door un noticed.
She walked down the road with her bag of clothes, wondering when she would ever be free.
Or more importantly, if. . .
