============================================================
I tried to keep my eyes open as I listened to my teacher drone out today's lesson. The silent ticking of the clock on top of the blackboard became louder and louder as I stared at it; the long hand inching closer to twelve.
"Nearly there." Alice silently coaxed the hands to move faster.
I bit the inside of my cheeks to stop the chuckle from coming out of my mouth and heaved a sigh. Even Alice, the class' top student and my best friend, was excited to get out of here.
I started to return my focus on what Mister Marston was talking about when Alice whispered. "You excited to get out of here? This is driving me nuts." She rolled her eyes and giggled to herself.
Smiling, I nodded and whispered back. "Yeah, can't wait. I feel like this day has been unusually long."
She returned my smile and muttered "You have no idea." whilst facing the blackboard again.
The bell rang and some of my classmates stood up and hurriedly packed their bags and rushed outside the classroom door, leaving Alice and I along with a few students left inside the room.
"Any plans Jen?" Alice turned on her seat and asked me while I clipped some notes on my binder.
"I think I just want to rest when I get home, I feel unusually tired and I don't know why." I chuckled and stood up.
"But I want to play like yesterday." Alice whined and stood up too.
"Yesterday?" I asked giving her a confused look and we started walking out.
Last time I checked, I had a movie marathon yesterday at home, alone.
"Yeah! I can't believe you forgot about yesterday!" Alice muttered, clearly annoyed.
I know I'm forgetful, I mean I forget things like where I put my glasses, cellphone, notebook, when I just put it down seconds ago. I forget important dates like my brother's birthday. I forget the passwords on my accounts. It's something I'm not really proud about. But I just don't see how I can forget something like being with Alice yesterday. The only thing I remember doing yesterday was watch good movies, unforgettable good movies I might add
"No I-"
"But it's okay." She suddenly turned to me. "I need to go somewhere! See you!" She gave me a cheeky smile and scampered off to who knows where.
I stopped walking and stood there for a few seconds. I shrugged and headed for the gate. I guess I'm walking home alone today.
I fished for my key in my pocket and opened the door to my apartment. Dumping my bag on the sofa, I headed for the fridge to get some water.
After that, I took my binder and settled myself on the sofa. I opened my binder and scanned through my notes for today. Standing up to head for my desk, a piece of paper fell from my binder.
Scrawled in a messy handwriting, it said:
Please. REMEMBER.
