Resurrection

Chapter 1: The start of the Outbreak

Imagine waking up to different world. But not just any world; A world full of disease. A place where you have to watch your back constantly and where trust does not exist. This wasn't just an outbreak that affects a few thousands of people this affected all humanity all seven billion people of the world. This outbreak was not like any outbreak that the world has ever seen. This one was different. A outbreak that happened overnight in a short brief time period. An outbreak where the dead resurrect. People are no longer worrying about bills and their job; it's all about surviving. The fight between humans and the dead. The battle that started about a month ago. I woke up on this day just how I wake up every morning the annoying sound of my alarm going off. I hit the snooze button at least three time before waking up fully but I got to get up and get ready. I slowly got up from my bed thinking about going back to sleep but I got to go to work. I got dressed brushed my teeth and started brewing up some coffee. I took a pop tart out of the pantry and stuck in the toaster for my breakfast. S'mores pop tarts are always my favorite morning breakfast. As I waited patiently for the clock to wind down to the time I leave for work I decided to watch some Tv. The first thing that came on was How I Met Your Mother my favorite tv show. It always reminds me how i use to waste my weekends binge watching every episode. I heard loud beeping coming from my kitchen. My coffee and pop tart was ready. I got up and started walking to the toaster. I took the pop tart out and put it on a plate and sat it on the counter. I went over to the coffee maker and picked up my coffee and I added my cream and sugar. I devoured my pop tart in a few bites. As I was taking my first sip of coffee I got startled from loud warning alerts coming from the Tv in my living room. Living in Pennsylvania I assumed it was a weather advisory warning. I took out my phone and check the weather. I looked and saw that the weather was clear for today. Not thinking much of it I assumed the warning was an amber alert. I glanced at the clock I was late for work. I grabbed my purse and my laptop then sprinted out of my house. I hopped in my car and started driving fast. I noticed something was different. There was no traffic. There was nobody in my neighborhood. Which was different because my neighborhood is filled with kids waiting for the bus and parents going to work. I assumed that world was running late just like me and continued driving to work. I decided to take the scenery route to work since its the fastest way. It was nothing but woods all the way I continued to drive at a fast amount of speed. I grab my phone to plug in the aux and started listening to some jams. I was driving way over the speed limit. Every morning this road was always foggy due to the lakes in the woods. I decreased my speed slightly but still was speeding. I looked down because my music stopped playing. I quickly hit play again and looked up and saw something on the road. It looked like a person. I only had a split second to observe as I slammed on the breaks. I gathered it was a person but the person looked disoriented. Different. My car hit the person and continued moving along the road. My world was in slow motion as I hear squealing of the tires and my car then jerked to the left and went down a bank and hit a tree. The impact of the tree caused me to fling forward hitting my head on the steering wheel I was out cold. My air bags never deployed. I sat there unconscious. That was the beginning of the new world.
