~Imagine you were the reason that Thorin's case of the Dragon sickness was gone~
Thorin sat on his throne, wearing different kinds of marvelous shiny jewels and wearing his golden armor, made only for a king. Ever since Smaug was slain, Thorin acted more...selfish, more strict you could say. The Thorin that once entered Bilbo's comfortable little hobbit hole long ago was gone, only gold and jewels mattered to him now...Y/n remembered when she first started taking interest in him...when he asked her to join the company on their journey to take back the mountain, because she was a strong independent warrior in those parts that not only knew how to use a sword, but when to use it.
Everyone except Bilbo and Y/n searched through the ginormous heap of gold, looking for the most important jewel known to the Dwarf race...the Arkenstone. Y/n noticed what was happening to Thorin, but she couldn't do anything about it. When the others tried lecturing him, he'd threaten to kill them, so that was definitely out of the question. "Bilbo, do you...do you think that Thorin will ever be, well what's the word...normal again?", Y/n asked as she sat on a broken column. Bilbo made a sad expression on his face, he knew how much Y/n loved and cared for Thorin, he knew how she'd sacrifice her life just for him...but, by the way things looked right now, no one believed that Thorin would come back. "Well Y/n, I'm not going to lie to you, things aren't looking good for him, or even for the rest of us", Bilbo said sitting next to her. "I love him...so much. I've loved him for a long time, but I know he won't love me", Y/n said, tears forming in her eyes. "No no don't cry Y/n...look, you should tell Thorin how you feel, I'm sure he feels the same towards you, just give it a try", Bilbo said wrapping his small arm around her shoulder. That's when Y/n realized that things weren't going to change on their own, she had to do something about it. "Thanks Bilbo, I will try", and with that, Y/n walked to the throne room, full of determination.
As she got closer and closer though, she regretted ever getting up from the column, but it was too late, her legs carried her right into the throne room, with a smirking Thorin a few yards away. "Y/n, I've been wanting to see you for awhile now", Thorin said in his deep voice that would melt Y/n inside out. "R-really? W-why's that?", Y/n stuttered, walking towards him. Thorin got up from his throne and looked at her as she got closer. "I think I'm in love with you...be my Queen Under the Mountain Y/n, let us love each other until the end of our days, let's grow old together...", he said all of a sudden. Y/n blushed hard, this is what she's wanted for a long time...but there was one problem. "Thorin...I-I...I love you too, I've loved you for the longest time, but by the way you've been acting and treating everybody else, I'm going to have to refuse, I'm sorry", Y/n said starting to cry. Thorin's heart broke into a million pieces...he had to become different, for his love, "I'll change Y/n...I promise you, my love". With that, Thorin pulled Y/n into a deep long kiss which she gladly accepted and kissed back.
In the end, Thorin did keep his promise, and started caring less for the gold and more for the ones he loved. After the Battle of the Five Armies (where he and Fili and Kili survived), Y/n was crowned Queen Under the Mountain, and they lived together till the end of their days as a happy couple.
