Quick Author's Note: Um, well. It's been like, almost 2 whole years since I've updated this story! I should be awarded a Guinness World Record for THE longest writer's block! But, for some odd reason, I found some inspiration for this story and thought I'd continue it since you guys seemed to like the prologue so much! I'm still not entirely sure where I'm going to go with this story but please bear with me cause I know I'll be updating more (it won't be another two years I promise) So without further ado, here's the next installment of Through The Dark (I really want to change the title by the way but anyways)

Thanks again for all the love and enjoy! xx

-His POV-

Darkness filled the already dim-lit room, a sign that the day was coming to a close. "Time to get ready for bed".

I'd slept on the couch by myself for the past month, because I'm afraid to just leave her alone completely, to think of what the consequences could be..

As I turn off the last light, the room becomes pitch black almost instantly.

My body immediately relaxes as it makes contact with the couch. As I get comfortable, my eyes stare at the ceiling. When will this hell all be over for me? When will I finally be free of this nightmare?

As if I were wishing on a shooting star, both of my questions are answered.

I hear something, I hear her. For the first time in days, she's out in the open.

Moonlight shines in just as she turns around the corner.

Holding onto the wall for support, she slowly moves into eyesight as her figure emerges in the doorway.

I stand up slowly, not sure if to move towards her or to keep my distance.

She looks... gorgeously awful.

Her brunette hair is gently laying on the top of her head in a messy bun, makeup shadows are left on her sunken in face, her body is as skinny as a skeleton, near to it.

As she sucks in a breath, her body collapses to the floor in defeat.

I rush over to her still body, shaking her gently as the hot tears quickly reach the surface, burning down my face.

"BROOK!" I scream, knowing she can't hear me. "Brookie, baby, wake up.." I whisper, as I stumble to grab for the phone.

In just minutes, sirens break the silence.

"It's going to be okay my love, I'm not going to leave you.." I whisper in her ear as I hold her body in my arms, gently rocking her back and forth.

The doctor finally let me in to see her. As I enter the room, the first thing I see is how frail and small she looks laying there. She's now in a hospital gown, with her hair in tangles until it reaches it's stopping point at her waist. I never noticed how long her hair had grown until now. I slowly make my way towards her, not noticing how slow my breathing had become. I couldn't comprehend how thin she was, and how pale her pigment had become. It was crazy how fast she had changed, but there was nothing I could've done to help her.

"Yes there was, you idiot." Guilty thoughts start to spread across my mind. Tears start to brim as I drop my head, not wanting anyone to walk by and see me in such a state. There had to of been something I could've done. Right?

"There was nothing you could've really done to of helped her." I look back up to see the doctor standing there, unknowingly answering the question I had just asked myself a moment ago.
