An Unexpected Surprise

Evelyn's Point of View

I watched Joshua pace around outside of our bathroom door. "How much longer." He said like an impatient child. "Babe hold on." I say I walk out into our bed now. "Tada!" Josh takes one good look at me and his jaw drops all the way to the ground.

"Babe you're so beautiful." "Stop it you always say that." I say kissing his cheek. He smirks and walks out of our bedroom. I follow him down the stairs. He puts his coat on and we walk to the door. Before we reached the door, the doorbell rang. Josh quickly grabbed his hand gun he had on his side.

He opens the door and I scream. As I see my parents and his parents standing there smiling. "Mom, dad?" I say trembling. "Oh Evelyn." My mother said hugging me.

Josh hugs his parents too. I notice my mother looking at my left hand. "Evelyn are you and Josh...?" I nodded and she laughs with joy. "Oh I knew you two would end up together."

My mother says. My father walks up to Joshua, I expected him to do something to him but my father just hugs Josh. "What happened to you guys? We thought you were dead?" Josh asks. After my father and his father explained everything made since now. Both of our parents worked for the CIA.

"Oh Joshua I'm so proud of you." Josh's mother says. "Look at the man you have become today?" His father adds on. "So when are we going to be grandparents?" My father chimes in.
"Dad!" I say sternly.

"Ok ok I'm just curious." He chuckles. "Ted stop that." My mother said hitting his thigh. My father just shrugged his shoulders like he didn't do anything wrong.

My mother looked at Joshua and starred at his face. "If I might ask what happened to your face." She says pointing out the scar on Joshua's cheek.

"Josh got scar when he was trying to protect me from assassins." I say kissing Josh. "Oh my poor baby." His mother says. "Mom, stop it, I'm not little anymore." He says rolling his eyes.

I look at him and squint my eyes at him. He just rolls his eyes at me. "So Evelyn, are you happy that you ended up with Josh after all?" My mother says.

"Well yeah I mean I love him more than anything in the world, he is the love of my life and I couldn't think of being with anyone else."

"Well you used to talk about him all the time, before we had to die." She says putting her hands up like quotation marks. "You would always say that one day you were going to marry him."

She said holding my hands. All of sudden I don't feel good. "Please excuse me." I say running into the bathroom.

I get into the bathroom and puke in the toilet. "Babe are you alright?" Josh says knocking on the door. "I don't know." I say Josh opens the door and says "I think we need to doctor." "Ok." I say wobbling to get up. "We'll follow you guys." My parents say.

We got the hospital and we're there for almost along time. I was sitting on the bed when the doctor came in. "Evelyn I know why you've been feeling unwell today." The doctor says.

Everyone in room looks at the doctor with anticipation. "Why?" I say and before I could speak again he says. "Evelyn congratulations you're pregnant."

My hand immediately went up to my mouth. "Are you serious?" The doctor nodded "Congratulations." He's walks out leaving me shocked. I look at Joshua "Evelyn..." Before he could say anything I grab his head and pull him in for a kiss. "Oh my gosh Joshua, were going to be parents!" I happily said.

His parents and my parents started clapping. "Oh Evelyn you're officially going to be a mother." My mom said. "We're going to be grandparents." Both of our parents said. "I can't believe it, how did I end up with such a beautiful girl like you." Josh says.

"I don't know how.." I didn't get what I was going to say out before a man walked in and said "Evelyn?" "Yes?" I say

The man quickly pulls out from his side a pistol and aims it at me. Josh reacted quickly and pulled out his pistol and they both exchanged gun fire. Josh shot the man in the face killing him. My parents made sure I was ok.

I look at Josh and screamed. "Josh!" He was holding his side which was covered with blood as he slowly fell to the ground. I start sobbing. "Please Joshua no!" The doctors rushed in "Get him to Surgery."

We followed and waited out in the waiting room. We waited and waited until finally the doctor walked into the waiting room covered in blood.

"He's fine he was in critical condition but he'll be fine we managed to stabilize him." "Oh thank goodness." I said in tears of joy.

After waiting a week Josh was finally able to come home "I'm so glad you're ok. Thank you so much for always protecting me." I say kissing him. "Your welcome baby." He replies hold my hands.
