Love is precious.
He found his love and he lost it. He now wished he had not known it. Then his pain would not be so unbearable. He wish to crawl in a hole and die. But he can't.
He has to stay strong because worst is not yet over. He has to fight.
Fight for all the memories. Her smiling face , eyes sparked with mischievousness , lips half curled up in laughter and she gazing at him with all the love and adoration in the world. Love which he did not deserve.
It's his fight for survival because he cannot live without her. And hell would freeze over before he would allow God to take her from him.
It's war.
