Thump. Thump. Thump.
My eyes aren't well adjusted yet, the light burns them. I force them open, waiting seconds until I realize the ceiling is an eggshell white. I smell chemicals, chemicals everywhere. I go to turn my neck to look around but my neck is too stiff. I hear noises. Almost voices but they drag on making weird whoosh noises. I finally jerk my head to the side, releasing a yelp of excruciating pain down my spine. I see blurry figures come my way, and the shape of what might be a hand.
"Are you okay?"a tall man says. I soon realize who he is. My dad?
"Dad? Where am I? What's going on?" I asked confused.
"Umm....do you remember anything?". I can barely recognize what he us saying. My head is throbbing. I now see I am in a hospital.
"Why am I here?"
"Honey," he's hesitant,"you've been in a coma."
"What? For how long?" I'm confused.
"Well," he looks over to a doctor I didn't even notice I see tears swelling in his eyes," you've been in a coma for 2 years."
That's not possible.
