Hiya guys, so this is simply to feed my need for Scotty fanfiction because there isn't much out there where he actually gets the girl. Oh well. Enjoy the fluff!
You sit in your apartment and wait. And wait. And wait. Then you hear your PADD ding. You jump up and fly across your bedroom. You open the message. It has five little words on it that make you jump for joy.
Lieutenant (y/f/n) (y/l/n); Starship Enterprise
You had recently applied for a transfer from your last ship the USS Arizona because the memories were too bad. Both your best friend and your parents died on it when it was attacked. You were left alone. You grab your bag (which had been packed for hours) and sprint out the door, almost forgetting to lock it. You double back and do. You live a few blocks from the star base so you just walk to it. When you get to the launch pad, there are so many people you can't see which shuttlecraft is going to the Enterprise until you literally trip over the sign. It is getting ready to take off but you get in and buckled just in time. You sit next to a man in a blue shirt with interesting ears and eyebrows. You recognize him as Vulcan from your trips on the Arizona.
"Mr. Spock I presume?" you ask conversationally.
"Yes. And you are?" he asks, raising one of his pointed eyebrows.
"Lieutenant (y/l/n), sir. I'm the new assistant engineer."
"Welcome aboard, Lieutenant," Spock says and goes back to watching out the window until you arrive. When you get there you make your way to engineering. You see a man in a red shirt barking orders at some of the others, who obviously weren't doing their jobs. You walk behind him and he turns with a gruff "What?"
"Ummm I'm looking for Mr. Scott; I'm the new assistant engineer," you stammer hesitantly.
His face softens and he gives you an apologetic glance. "Sorry lass; I thought you were one of those incompetent Ensigns. I'm Mr. Scott bu' you can call me Scotty. Sorry, I'll be with ya in a minute," he says in a thick Scottish accent. You smile slightly as he goes back to yelling at the "incompetent Ensigns."
Over the next week you two grow closer, often meeting in the rec room after your shifts are done to sit and talk over a cup of coffee. Finally the night comes where you have the day off the next morning.
"'Ey lass," Scotty says after your shift is over. "Comin' down ta the rec room?"
You smile and nod as he immediately falls into stride with you, rambling on about the day and work as you listen contentedly. You like just being beside him and listening to him. You think he has a beautiful accent. Your cheeks turn pink after you realize what you just thought.
"Are ya okay lass? Yer a migh' bit flushed. Do ya 'ave a fever? Should I call the Doctor?" He asked, all in one breath, the worry apparent in his dark chocolaty eyes. He put the backs of his hands on your face to check for a fever, leaving them there just a little longer than he needed. You don't mind of course.
"No, I think I'm okay," you say.
"Ya sure, lass? Ya are a li'l warm," he says concern etched into his face.
"Yeah, I'm fine." You continue walking. He suddenly falls behind you. You slow down so he can catch up but he stubbornly stays behind you.
"Why are you walking behind me, Scotty?" you finally ask.
"Incase ya were ta collapse if ya do 'ave a fever."
You sigh. "I'm fine, Scotty!"
"Well awlright..." he says, not looking convinced.
All of a sudden a thought pops into your mind about how to cheer him up. "Hey, Scotty, we have the day off tomorrow so do you want to join me in a Scotch when we get to the bar?"
He immediately perks up and says "Boy would I! Come on! Come on!" He grabs onto your arm and drags you the rest of the way to the bar, all thoughts of your 'fever' gone. When you get there you see Kirk and the rest of the bridge crew (minus Spock of course, as he doesn't drink) already there. "Well there's the cute new recruit now!" Kirk says, already halfway through a glass of some alcoholic something or other. You swear at the Capitan's words Scotty's grip on your arm gets a little tighter but maybe it was just you.
You smile as you sit down next to Chekov, who already has a big cup of vodka, and say "In the flesh!" Then you turn to the bar tender to order but Scotty beats you to it.
"Two Scotches please. On me."
You fold your arms and say "I can pay for myself!"
Scotty just smirks and says "I can pay for a few glasses of Scotch for me favorite engineer."
You sigh as the scotches come and say "Just so long as I only have at most two."
Scotty just winks and says, with a hearty laugh, "I'll try to keep ya sober."
You smile and grab a glass. "Bottoms up."
He definitely did not live up to his promise. By the time you both were done with three glasses you were swaying and giggling like a maniac. You reach over for another glass of scotch and accidentally grab his arm instead. You giggle and hiccup. "Hehe sorry! Mmmmm you smell like scotch." You stand up and stagger over to Capitan Kirk. "Why is there no *hiccup* music?" you ask him.
"Hmm that's a good idea," he slurs mischievously and very drunkenly. Together the both of you stagger over to where the bar tender is cleaning glasses.
"Hey bar tender!" Jim calls. The bar tender looks up.
"How can I help ya?" the bar tender asks.
"Can we get some music?"
The bar tender looks around the room. As it was pretty late we were the last few here. Even Chekov and Sulu had left. It was just Uhura, Scotty, Jim, and you. The bar tender shrugs. "I don't see why not." He goes to the back and turns on a song. It is "Back in Black" by AC/DC.
"Yay!" you yell, as it is one of your favorite songs. You go to the middle of the room and shove the tables and chairs out of the way, making room for you to dance. You dance all around the room crazily for the next few songs. Then a slow song starts. It is "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. You start to sing along then slow dance with the air. You hear Jim ask Uhura to dance and they walk out on the makeshift dance floor. You feel a tap on your shoulder.
You turn to see Scotty and giggle. He's just so cute!
"May I 'ave this dance?" he says sweetly. You grin and nod. He takes your hand and your waist and slowly spins you around the floor. As the song says "one step closer" you both take a step closer. By the end of the song you are both pressed against each other, your head happily listening to his steady heartbeat. As the song ends he looks down at you and you look up at him.
"Ya know," he says softly. "I've loved you since we met."
"You know what?" you say with a smile.
"Wha'?"
"I've loved you for a thousand years and will love you for a thousand more." and with that you smash your lips to his, giving him a rough but passionate kiss which he immediately returns. And in that moment everything is perfect. Now the hangover you both have in the morning is another story....
Ah fluff how I love you. Well I hope you liked it. Live Long and Prosper peeps.
