"That was so fun," Kristia said, laughing hysterically. She and her best friend, Naomi, were walking out of the house, laughing to themselves. They just pulled a prank on Naomi's brother and it was a success. Even though the were in big trouble, but watching Chris' face scream like a little girl was priceless.
"I know right," Naomi doubled over with laughter. "I never had so much fun since fifth grade!"
Kristia remembered that time. They were like the mischief upon mischief back then. Everywhere they went, chaos was following them. Once, they tricked the maths teacher into the janitor's closet and made her think that she was being kidnapped by a crazy chainsaw dude. They got suspended after this incident, but Kristia never regretted it. The teacher deserved this, after all the stress she gave the class.
"C'mon," she said, jogging forward. "I'm starving."
They walked in silence for five minutes until they heard rustling sounds near the bushes. The two girls looked at each other and frowned.
"What could that be?" Naomi said, voicing their thoughts."Only one way to find out," Kristia said, edging towards the bush. But before she could even take a small step, the mysterious figure in the bush lunged out. It clawed on Kristia's shirt and held on dear life. She screamed, as fear took over her thoughts. In the corner of her eyes, she could see Noami desperately trying to reach her, but there was as if an invisible force shield was blocking her, straining her from Krisia and the foul creature. Kristia pushed and pulled, trying to get away from it.
Suddenly, the attack stopped. Kristia was both relieved and confused. She stood up, and once again laid eyes on the thing that attacked her, but it was no longer a thing. It was a man. A quite good looking man, in fact. Okay, beat it, Kristia thought. He was downright gorgeous. He was at least 6"32 feet tall, with buff arms, black hair and strikingly beautiful green eyes.
Kristia was awestruck for one split second before she remember about Naomi. She turned and saw that her best friend was petrified, literally. She was as hard as rock and was not moving. Kristia quickly approached her, but she suddenly vanished from her sight and suddenly a strong hand covered her mouth. Another hand snaked around her waist, pulling her closer to the man. A strong puff of lavender filled her nostrils. Kristia wondered who he was.
"Don't worry about your little friend," he whispered next to her ear. Kristia tried to break free, and the man let go of her. She turned around and stared at the man.
"Who are you," she whispered, trying to sound vicious and confident. She hated being weak. "What do you want from me?"
The man smirked, and Kristia found it quite sexy on his face. "Darren," he mused, as if it was the most amusing thing in the world."Now tell me yours," Kristia froze. She had a silent battle inside her, wether to tell Darren her real name or not. Finally she went against it.
"Dawn," she said, trying to make it as convincing as possible. Darren chuckled.
"That's not your real name, hermosa chica. Now tell me." He said, laughing. Kristia was shocked. How did he know that? She was the master of lies! "Kristia," she finally answered.
"Ah, Kristia," Darren continued, stepping closer towards her. Kristia didn't even budge, and narrowed her eyes at him. "as for what I want from you, I want you to come with me,"
Kristia stood there, her mind going like crazy. Why would he want that? Kristia wondered. She knew Darren can read through her mind, and he smirked yet again. "Don't worry, no harm will get in your way," he assured her."And what if I don't come with you?" Kristia challenged. She could see the spark of amusement in his eyes.
"Well then, you have to give me a good reason why to let you go," he said, enjoying the very moment. Kristia seemed to be a very stubborn person.
"Because I don't even know you," she complained.
Darren laughed. "Way to state the obvious, babe," he smiled seducingly. He wanted her to love him, but Kristia seemed unaffected by him. "Well that's the truth," she whined. "Oh, and you're a tree."
Darren stopped laughing. "Say what?" He frowned. This was Kristia's time to laugh. "I said," she smile, mimicking Darren's seducive smirk. "you look like a tree."
Darren mockingly rolled his eyes before disappearing in a flash. Kristia was confused. Where did he go?
Suddenly something appeared behind her and before she knew it, the same familiar arms wrapped around her. "You will regret this, muffin," he whispered, amused by her reaction. Kristia turned so she was facing him."Oh I'm sure will," she retorted, mocking Darren's eye roll. He studied her grey eyes. "I like you," he finally decided. "Come with me to the kingdom."
Before Kristia can register what was happening, Darren touched her forehead and all she saw was darkness.
