Athena and the myths

Chapter 1:

I sat on the dock dangling my feet over the blue, green, yellow water, high enough so that I didn't get my new designer shoes wet. As I sat there I closed my eyes. It was a hot day and it felt good when the boats went by and sprayed me with sea foam. I was lost in a memory from a long time ago. From my graduation party.

Jacob, one of my best friends, had pulled me into a closet and kissed me. I was so shocked that I didn't resist. His girlfriend at the time, Rita, had opened the door to get her coat and caught us. She had scolded Jacob and accused him of cheating. Then she walked away. Jacob had turned to me and shrugged his shoulders. 

That was about 3 years ago, but now Jacob and I are "dating". He said goodbye to Rita a long time ago. I smiled to myself but it soon fell when I heard someone sneaking up on me.

I looked up, just in time to see Johnny thrust his arms out towards my back. But before he touched me my instincts kicked in and I dodged the blow, I jumped up and aimed a blow to his stomach, which he easily deflected and returned. We went on like that for a few minutes until someone pushed us both off the dock. I was lucky and grabbed the edge before I could fall in, but Johnny fell in face first. When he came up for air his face was as red as a beet, his always-perfect black hair was all over his face was contorted with pain. 

"Who pushed me?" He asked through gritted teeth. 

"I don't know," I said trying to hold back my laughter. We both looked up and saw the sisters, Megan and Danae laughing their heads off. I quickly noted that Megan had died her hair again, this time it was red on the edges matching her glasses. And that Danae had gotten taller and had gotten new glasses to match her silver hair. 

"Hey Meg and Dana, your back from your trip already! I thought you came back next week" I yelled, beaming up at them.

"Oh, well mum and dad are still in Switzerland, they just sent us back early, Meg and I were, uh, homesick, yah, homesick" Danae grew silent and looked sheepishly down at her shoes. 

"Oh, well that's great, uh next time just email me, so I know." I said, my gang leader instincts kicking in.

'So I know not to be by water,' I thought to myself. 

"Oh, we did, I sent you lots of texts too." Megan said. 

I turned around to look at Johnny only to find him staring at me intently. I caught his gaze and he looked away. Suddenly Johnny started swimming towards the dock 

"I'm going to kill you!" He yelled heaving himself up onto the dock and shook himself off getting the girls all wet so they screamed. He growled and they tried to run off, but Johnny was quick, he grabbed Megan by the arm and gave her a big bear hug, he twirled her around and kissed her right on the mouth to silence her yelling. 

'How sweet, boyfriend and girlfriend kissing on a dock.' I thought. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Danae pouting a little.'Poor girl, her crush stolen by her sister...' I thought. Johnny pulled Megan towards the gate followed by Danae. 

I heaved myself up onto the dock and stood up. I checked my shoes to see if they were dry. As I put my leg up to admire my shoes I felt myself slowly tipping over. I pin wheeled my arms but nothing happened. I spun, facing the water. 

I saw my reflection in the water and closed my eyes. I expected to feel the rush of water any time but after I didn't I peeked through my eyes and saw the water right under me, I was some how suspended in the air! Then I was yanked backwards and spun around. Strong arms held me up and I stood, just soaking in all his features, from his light brown hair to his muscled chest.
