She let her trembling hands run across the railing, the pouring rain soaking her fragile form. It had been hours walking down the beaten path, and she had only found a rotting bridge, it's color fading into the flourishing greenery. Where was she headed? To a world where they wouldn't care where she came from, her roots, her sins, her desires, and treasure her for how she was? Water collected in her curly locks, damp and unkempt, blending in with the gathering of bark behind her. She was not given a name, she was young and bright and didn't let others beat her down into who they thought she was.
Grass gathered at the edges of the collapsing building, echoing chirps from birds filling the empty space. Her bare feet met the tiles, coated in dirt and soot, the only remains of everything in the modern times. She knew who she represented, the beams of sunlight sending chills down her back, warming her cool form.
She was Mother Nature, and nothing was going to keep her away from her plants.
