They say the pain of the change changes people. How they look at things and how they react under different circumstances. What they fail to mention is the pain that rakes through you like a wildfire. The way that the elements fill you up making you feel so powerful that you could destroy a city with one swipe of your hand, or the way that you feel like you're drowning in the power, forever lost at sea as the power sweeps away the raw innocence of yourself that everyone holds tight to their heart.
Some people are lucky enough to have an animal claw its way into your soul when it is left unprotected, replacing the child side. This might sound bad but it is a gift that is stowed upon only the strongest who's barrier that protected their soul was so strong that an animal wanted to become one with them. These gifts were given to us by angels. We are called the Protectors and we protect those who can't protect themselves.
