Deadly Beauty

Chapter 1

     I woke up drenched in sweat the pain of the change rushing through my body, it felt like I was running a marathon as the molecules in my body changed shape and my very DNA was reconstructed. Power filled me up as the scene of my bedroom was taken away from my eyesight and I was taken to the center of my soul.

My center was very.... Abstract.... There was a raging river full of water... And fire. On the other side of my center there is monuments made out of dirt with more wind than I've ever felt. So that's the four elements, to say I was shocked is an understatement. Barely any protectors have more than two elements, let alone four. Then the scary part started happening, power from the elements flies at me and I let out a high pitched screech as it flies around me like a tornado. I relaxed as I realized it wasn't going to come at me and reached out to touch it. 

NOTE TO SELF: Never touch the power tornado EVER again. The minute my hand touched the power it was sucked into me like water to a sponge. The wave of power knocked me off my feet and I had to force myself to breathe as more power than I could have ever imagined flew through me at the speed of light. It was too much power to handle and my body seemed pushed beyond its limits to absorb it all. But my center stretched and adjusted to fit all of the newfound power and soon I could stand up and breathe normally like a power wave hadn't just kicked my ass.

As all this was happening I felt a shaking down to my very core as the walls of my soul drop down, the one thing protecting me from demon influence thanks to my angel heritage. One good thing usually comes out from the wall dropping, an animal takes the place of the innocence that protectors lose from the change. I was about to let my walls back up because I had no use for another animal side when a flash of light showed up in my line of vision. A deer came into my sight line, I was filled with uncontrollable excitement. Although deer aren't the most wanted animal side because they aren't mean or ferocious they are graceful and only come to people whose soul is pure and strong. Just as the deer was about to cross the entryway to my soul a flash of light blocked my view of the graceful creature. When the light faded out a lion stood in place of the deer. Shocked and a little frightened at the change I tried to put my walls up but they came a second too late when the lion stepped through the entrance and jumped at me to become the other part of my soul. I let out a scream when I saw it turn into an owl, zebra, moose, tiger, monkey, and finally back into the deer as it leaped into my soul and we became one.

The power of this one animal flooded through my system, somehow more powerful than my elements. The key word there is one, as the animal joined my soul I found out it was different from its species of spirit animals just like I'm different from the rest of my people. Her names Trinity and she didn't have a specific form. She could be whatever she wanted to be just like I had every element. She felt the power when I started to change and quickly came to stake her claim. I could feel her settling into my body as I started to drift back to sleep and the last thing I felt was her flare of surprise.
