The Doctor was sprawled out on Kat's floor eating chicken nuggets. "Where's the ice cream?" he asked Kat.

"It's December, I don't have Ice Cream." She shook her head as she sat down beside Lila on the couch, turning on the news.

The Doctor sprang up from his position. "You, are not my daughter. Who doesn't have ice cream!"

"I haven't been home in what, a couple months? When do you expect me to have time to get groceries? I quit my job to go with you, so where do you expect me to get money from?" she started, slightly aggravated.

"I don't have money and I still have ice cream."

"Shut up, ya weirdo. Just watch the news for a bit," Kat directed, turning her attention back to the TV and the newscast.

"But the news is boring," he whined.

"Shush!"

The news anchor was talking in front of a window, bullet holes sprawled about it.

"I'm sure this will be very boring," Kat said sarcastically.

"I'm glad you agree with me," the Doctor stated promptly.

The scene changed to the city park, a man standing there wielding a gun.

"Doesn't he know guns are dangerous?!" the Doctor exclaimed.

"Well, yes, considering he's threatening people who try to stop him with it. Are you even listening to the report?" Lila responded this time, straightening up.

"Ummm... yes?"

"Then you heard that man, Robert has more people with more guns at the ready, and is planning to take control of New York?"

"Definitely!" the Doctor said, shaking his head too fast without even listening.

"Father, New York is at gun point, essentially."

"Very interesting, but I need more nuggets."

Kat stood, pulling Lila after her. "Sometimes I find you're the most irresponsible and immature whatever-age-you-are-old in existence; but, then I remember you're probably the only one as well." Kat marched to her front door and swung it open.

"What are you doing?" he asked with a mouthful of chicken nugget.

"I'm doing what you do," she replied simply. "Interfering with absolutely no plan."

He smiled. "You are definitely my daughter. Shall we leave then?" he asked, dropping the plate of nuggets onto the ground.

"One step ahead of you..."

Kat started down the hall, Lila right beside her. The Doctor followed after the two quickly as they exited the apartment building and meandered down the street. Where else would someone be if they were hoping to take over New York other than the Gracie Mansion. The three wandered down the streets and took a couple buses. Soon they were staring up at the yellow painted mansion surrounded with men, guns at ready. Kat marched up to the stairs, getting stopped by one guard.

"And just what do you think you're doing, kid?"

"We're here to visit the, uh, new resident here... Robert."

"And why should I let you in?" he asked, taking a step forward, his hand that held the gun twitching.

Kat elbowed The Doctor, whispering in his ear, "Psychic paper..."  She backed up a bit.

"Would you really want to explain why you didn't let me in to dear old Robert?" he asked, shoving the psychic paper into the guard's face with entitlement.

The guard's eyes widened. "Sorry sir, I didn't know. I just, um, go inside."

"Thank you," the Doctor said with traces of irritation. He pushed the guard out of the way and walked through.

"These two as well, sir?" The guard asked, looking at Kat and Lila who he had stopped.

"No, obviously. I brought them along to look good." He rolled his eyes, tapping his foot impatiently.

Kat pushed the guard aside and dragged Lila after her. They opened the doors and stepped inside.

"What did it say this time?" Kat asked, looking around.

"I never know," he stated simply.

"Who's there?" A voice shouted from upstairs, loud and obnoxious.

"Why don't you come and see?" the Doctor shouted up the flight of stairs to their left.

"He's probably in the study, follow me. It's not too long to get there," Kat explained, not explaining why she knew how to navigate the mansion.

The Doctor looked at her in confusion for a second and trudged after.

"Don't question it, don't mention it," Kat said without even looking back. She pushed open the door and stepped inside.

The Doctor followed and walked in front of her to find who else other than Robert.

"Hello, Robert," the Doctor stated. "Lovely day for a robbery, eh?"

Robert turned in his swivel chair, smirking at the three. The door slammed shut behind them and Kat jumped.

"And who might you three be?"

"I'm the Doctor. The one to my right is Kat, and the one to my left is Dingledobs. Nice to meet you." He smiled, taking a step forward.

"Her name is Lila," Kat interjected.

"The Doctor, just the man I'm looking for. Please; sit." Robert smiled, an odd evil lacing his eyes.

"Well well well, look who's informed. Now tell me, where do you come from?" He sat in front of him.

"Oh, a planet far away, I suppose."

"Do enlighten me."

"I'll spare that for later, I think it would scare our dear Lila a bit much." He laughed wickedly. Kat got closer to Lila, wrapping her arm protectively around her.

"I'll be waiting. For now, what business do we have here?"

"Much, much, my friend. Perhaps you know of this?" He slid a piece of paper across the table to The Doctor.

His eyes darkened. "Where did you get that?"

Robert grinned maliciously, "I do believe that's private information."

"Very interesting, if I do say. What do you want?"

"Many things, My Dear Doctor, I could tell you flat out, but what fun is that?"

"Not much, apparently." He grimaced, his fists tightening under the table.

"Dad?" Kat stood behind him, utterly confused.

"Not. Now."

Kat closed her mouth.

"So, anything you'd like to add before we have some... private conversations?" Robert inquired.

"Nothing to delay our lovely talks!"

"Good, good." Robert nodded, tapping a button beneath the desk.

The Doctor waited, tensing for ten seconds before realizing that nothing happened.

The door burst open, two guards entering. They took Kat and Lila, leaving The Doctor alone with Robert.
