It was another dark, cold evening in middsummer hills. the wind was circuling St. James' hospital and teased it. I was here alone, not telling anyone, not even my parents about the test, I didn't want to worrying my mother. she had been in a car crash with my dad. he had been death and when some one beeped thier horn to warn him he was entering the motor way the wrong way he didn't hear it and my mum wasn't paying attetion. Now my mum is disabled and in a wheel chair and my dad is not dead.
I had been going to the doctors for a couple of months now about my heraing. My family had a recored for bad hearing so I promised my parents that I would go, to keep them happy. But last week Dr. Alcis told me that my ears where giving him some concerne, he said it was probably nothing but he wanted to be safe. So here I was waiting for the results of the test.
Dr. Alcuis pushed his way through the door in the arrogant way he normaly did, but this time there was something different in his face, something I had not seen before. "Lucy," He swallod, obviosly something was not right. He had probably had a problem at home or a disstrssing disartser with his realtives, I wouldn't be too suprised if his wife had left him, he was a nasty piece of work. It couldn't be about me, he said it was probably nothing, just him being a drama queen , not much would be diffrent there. "Lucy, we have got the reults for the test. It's not good news. your hearing will be gone with in the next two months. " .
I didn't not understand. he said it would be fine, just a little check up to check that my ears where okay. I couldn't believe that in 2 months I wouldn'be able to hear a thing, complete isolation, nothingness srounding my ears, no more music, singing, the sound of laughter, it would all be gone, it would just be me. " Dr. Alcis," the words managed to stumble out of my mouth, " I think that you must have some mistake. you do know that this is Lucy tregger. I think you have the wrong details." he shook his head. Tears started to run down my face, staining my cheek as they went. I stood up and ran through the door not looking back, I needed to get out, I couldn't believe it, it couldn't be true.... but it was.
