Trouble Girls

Part 1

In a small town named Edenville, Alice Lewis ran through the crowds in fear. There was no way she could believe what the police officer had told her. She pushed everyone out of her way. The only way she could believe it was by seeing it with her own eyes. Her dark, long, brown hair flew in the wind. Her grey scarf softly scratched her neck giving her a tingling feeling. Her long brown coat covered her black jeans and pale sweater. More police sirens sounded. And the yelling of officers began to scare Alice. Tears began to form, afraid of what she would see after getting through the sea of people. Finally she got past the crowd. She stopped in her tracks as she stood at the front gates of a house which she considered her second home. Cassidy Reed rushed out the front door of that house with tears streaming down her cheeks, eyes red from the crying. Cassidy hugged Alice tightly as she confirmed," It's her." Alice slowly looked up in horror and shock her head," No. No! I don't believe you!" That caused more tears to stream down Cassidy's face. After shoving her friend away from herself, Alice charged towards the door and ran straight to the backyard of the house. There she found a dead body covered by a white cloth. A police officer stood up and attempted to kick her out when a woman, in her fifties stopped him. She wore a knitted sweater and black tights. Her blonde hair was tied up in a messy bun and she was clearly in shock. Alice kneeled down beside the body and lifted the white sheet. That was when she saw the body. The dead body of her best friend. The body of Sydney Parker. Alice wanted to hug her but she was pulled away by a police officer. Alice screamed," No!" A man wearing a suit said," Take her in for questioning. She's clearly a close friend." The man was clearly a detective. But he confirmed it when he said," I'm Detective Chase. I'll be the leading detective in the case of Sydney Parker's death." Alice was dragged away towards her other crying friends. Cassidy Reed, Tess Wilder and Harley Ferrell. Tess whispered through multiple sobs," I can't believe this is happening. Their phones immediately began to beep. The news of Sydney's death was spreading. Comments of Sydney's death were cruel and harsh, but in their hearts, they knew she deserved it. Cassidy read out," That witch had it coming. Rest in hell Sydney." Harley sobbed," This one's worse, Her Four Horsemen are useless without her." Alice glanced at her phone screen and said," #Sydney R.I.H (Rest in hell) is trending and so is #FHMnext (Four Horsemen)." Tess could tell her fellow friends were losing hope. Before, Sydney ruled the school with the four of them at her side. With Sydney's reign coming to an end, things were going to change." Tess said," Guys, I can't believe those witches would say stuff like that. Sydney may be gone but that doesn't mean they shouldn't still be scared of us. We're back to school after winter break. We need to show Edenville High we are still in control." Detective Chase interrupted and said," We need you four, down at the precinct." Tess demanded," Why?" Detective Chase glared at the four of them and said," Because your friend, Sydney was murdered. And everyone's a suspect. Including you four." The four exchanged worried glances. Then followed Detective Chase reluctantly.
