Drew Parker
"Drew! Tell me your love story!" John said. A 6 year-old nephew of mine while giving me his puppy eyes.
"No. You are too young for my story John." I replied while crossing my arms over my chest.
"Yes you will. Where is your girl friend Drew? I haven't seen her in ages!" Little John insisted me. Well his eyes are really cute I must say. Those chocolate brown eyes you cant resist.
"Well okay, but the girl you were referring to is not my girl friend okay? She's just my best friend."
"Cooool! Okay, but you actually look good together Drew." He smiled at me which comforted me.
"Okay kiddo. One day, a guy fell in love with a girl and he didn't know she had a boy friend. The end." I ended it and carried him swifty on my shoulders, he was weightless. He struggled and punched my back several times. "Put me down Drew! Moooom! Help me!" I didn't mind him and i just smiled. "You have to go to bed John." I told him. "No. That wasn't your love story. Now put me down or else m-"
"or else what?" Dana interfered. She's my one and only annoying sister and she's waaaaay older than me. Our gap is 8 years. I know right. EIGHT YEARS. She was married to Alex when she was 22 and I was 14 that time.
"Oh nothing Dana, we are just playing. Right John?"
"Yes mom, we were only playing." He told Dana with a soft voice. I put him down slowly, wow, John seemed to cooperate for the first time.
"I'll take him, to his room sis." I told her as I played with John's head.
"Okay Drew. Thanks. Oh, and no more stories okay?"
"Okay." John and I replied in chorus.
I took my nephew to his room and let him lay down on his rocket ship bed.
"Drew?" He called me in a low voice.
"Yep?"
"Was that really your love story?"
"Why are you so interested in love John? It only brings pain."
"I heard love stories from my friends about their sisters or brothers but it seems nice. Not painful."
"Not all stories are the same John. Now you go to sleep and don't think about love. Robocop is waiting for you in dreamland." I smiled at the curious boy.
"Okay Drew, thanks. And make sure to come back again soon."
"Sure thing kid. I have to go back to mom and dad."
"Aye aye sir." He slowly closed his eyes and fell into deep slumber.
I went downstairs to say good bye to Dana and Alex. I go to their house which was 5 houses away from ours every Wednesday or Saturday. Depends on my schedule. Why do I go there? Well, to entertain John because he's the only child and I dont have a family of my own yet.
When I got home, mom was asleep and dad was watching a football game. I greeted him and went straight to my room.
Anyway that story I told John? That's my story. Yep, I'm the boy friend... In my dreams.
I never thought it would hurt that bad. I mean, I'm absolutely not the only guy who is real with his feelings towards a girl. Do you agree? You should. How can some guys get the girl of their dreams so easy? Like a piece of cake or like peeling a freaking banana. But no matter what, my heart still beats for her.
