"RYLIE!" Neptune yelled in my ear once I hung up.
"WHAT?!" I yell back while I begin to start the car.
"Drive Lauren home, hurry!" She exclaims.
"Why is something wrong?" I ask, backing out carefully and taking the bumpy way back down the cliff.
"Nope." She had a smile on her face that I hadn't seen since Luke was here, so I smiled too.
Did the boys come to surprise us?
Were they waiting at Ash and I's houses right now as we spoke?
Is that why we were rushing home?
The car ride was pretty much physically silent besides the quiet Blink-182 music playing, though mentally, the car felt like a concert in full pump.
It's like Neptune and I were talking without saying anything. Like she already knew what I was going to ask.
I stopped at a stoplight and began to think about what Calum had said on the phone.
"I know you don't want to talk to me because I'm an asshole so–NO NO NO don't hang up! I promise in a little while things will make sense. Okay?"
And then a flat line.
I snapped out of my daze when the green light illuminated the dashboard.
I drove to my house and gently woke up Lauren.
"Hey, we're home. Sorry we had to drop you off so early. My mom wanted Neptune and I home." I lied.
"Oh, it's fine." Lauren stretched and rubbed her eyes, then unbuckled her seatbelt, said goodbye and walked next door to her house. "Thanks for helping me out today, guys."
We waved to her and then began to unlock my door.
No boys.
Sigh
I missed them.
"NO WAIT WE HAVE TO CHECK THE MAIL!" Neptune exclaimed, jogging to my mailbox.
"My mom probably already checked it today." I shrug.
"No! Let's check again!" She smiles.
I sigh and walk over to my mailbox, unlocking it.
I peaked inside to see –
"Nothing" Neptune sighed, her smile fading to a frown. My mouth remained in a straight line.
We walked back to my door and went inside heading to the kitchen to get some food.
"What do you want to eat?" I ask.
"Pringles and sweet tea." she shrugs, "Same as always."
I grab her tea and chips and then grab a Pepsi and a single serving bag of cheddar sour cream ruffles for myself.
We walk upstairs to my room with the food and sit on my bed.
"Ow!" I say, setting my stuff on my night stand.
"What happened?" Neptune asks.
I get up and look at my bed.
"Oh, I sat on an envelope." I laugh and move it aside.
"Oh." Neptune sighs.
I look at the envelope.
"It's mail. Did I get mail?" I mean to say to myself but Neptune ends up hearing anyways.
She snatches it away from me quickly and examines it closely.
"ITS FROM LUKE!" She yells.
"Mail from Luke?" I ask.
She rips it open without answering my question and pulls out 3 folded up papers.
One was a letter.
"Hey, Rylie! If you're reading this, it means you got my letter.. obviously but I'm sending these because I've had reports saying that you and Neptune miss us...for some reason...after a few discussions with management, they've given the okay and your transport fees are taken care of. Sorry if you don't want to fly to the UK. I guess you don't have to come if you don't want to. I probably should've asked first, but whatever. In case you can't read, they're plane tickets for December 14th at 6 a.m. Your names are on each ticket so use the right ticket. Oh, and I sent Neptune's ticket to you as well because she's always at your house and I'm afraid her dad might rip the tickets apart since he hates me. The guys and I will be waiting for you, hopefully discreetly. We'll text you details before you land. See ya!
-Luke" Neptune reads out."WAIT! WHAT?" I tell, grabbing the tickets and examining them. "HOLY SHIT!"
Neptune smiles and leans in to hug me.
"Two days." She whispers.
