Xavier POV*
We're currently in the Black SUV's on the way back to my pack. My mate doesn't talk and she is constantly flinching away from everyone but Aiden. Why Aiden? I'm her mate. I wasn't going to hurt her.
I watched her as she sat in between us all covered in dirt and with bandaged scratches on her arms and legs. She jumped out of the car a few minutes back. We caught up with her but she refused to go. Somehow Aiden managed to get her to listen and sit quietly in the car.
She leaned over me and reached for the door. I instantly stopped her causing her to flinch back. Damn it. She looked at me in fear and cowered away towards Aiden.
"Sorry, I'm sorry. But I can't let you out when the car is moving" I said to her as she looked at me. She shook her head and leaned over Aiden instead.
"Hey, you can't – " I started only to be stopped by Aiden.
"Calm down bro, she's not going to jump out. She promised me" and at this I watched as my mate nodded her head in confirmation. I watched as she reached for the door handle, just to roll down the window.
She looked at Aiden and then looked at me wearily. Aiden nodded his head at her, as if they were silently communicating. I watched as she slowly moved closer to me all tensed up. I looked up and to see Aiden giving me a 'you-better-do-it-right-or-I'm-going-to-kill-you' look. I glared right back and placed an arm around my mate, pulling her closer to me. Slowly she relaxed into my arms.
"What's your name?" I asked my mate. She looked up at me with wide eyes.
"Do you not have a name?" I wondered causing her to look at me like I was stupid.
"She has a name you idiot" said Aiden as he looked at me whilst rolling his eyes. I about to speak when I felt my mate pull on my sleeve. I looked down at my mate to see she was pulling at my sleeve continuously. She kept pulling on it until her eyes started to droop and she fell asleep in my arms.
