Dani's POV

Pressing my hand on the mysterious dudes head, I waited for him to come back to the present.
After he mentioned his mum, his deep brown eyes suddenly froze over, and his cheeky grin left his face.

"J... Josh? Um... Survey dude with the cool hair?"

His eyes slowly came back to their original colour, but looked duller.

"You think I have cool hair?" he said, raising his eyebrows and inching closer.

"Um yeah? I also think you have a huge ego, if we're just putting facts out there," she said sassily, raising an eyebrow in response.
Even if he did have a big ego, he also had a bigger mysterious aura.

Pulling back sharply, J gasped jokingly,
"OMG! How could you Dani?! After everything we've been through?" He smoothly moved her soft hand from her lap and into his, they basically engulfed her small ones.

This somehow feels... right?

Dani thought to herself.
Shaking her head a little she bought her eyes back to the survey and finished it quickly.

Looking proudly at the cute mysterious boy, she handed him back the slip and grinned triumphantly.
J took the slip, and his shoulders slumped forward a little.

Why did he look so relieved? It was just a crappy survey...

"Thanks love, I really mean it."  His deep voice held so much sincerity, Dani couldn't help but melt a little at his words.

Without giving Dani anytime to think of an answer, J swiftly wrapped his tattooed arm around her neck and pulled her in for a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek.

Who knew Americans were so forward??

Trying to play it off, Dani hugged the mysterious boy, but was surprised to feel a toned body beneath his hoodie.

Maybe he wasn't too bad after all, huh?

As soon as she hugged back, she felt him tap her on the back pocket before swiftly pulling away from her and shouting,
"Thanks Dani, you've been the best survey yet!"

Blinking slowly, Dani stood in the bustling cafe trying to piece together what just happened.

Just who WAS that guy?

Why did he only do one survey?

And why did he only pick ME?

A million thoughts ran through her head as she scrambled for answers. Reaching into her back pocket for her phone, her eyes widened in shock.

What the fuck?

Frantically patting down her pockets, she reached inside her handbag to check if it was there.

No luck.

Searching the area, she realised her phone was nowhere to be seen, but glancing down, she noticed a Nokia lying flat on its face, right where J had been sitting.

A Nokia? Are you forreal?

Taking a deep breath, she reached down, and grabbed it.
Typing in her number, she began an awkward, frustratingly hard text to
type.

"Mysterious types really fuck me off," Dani muttered.
