We left early in the morning. Something about giving us enough time to spend some girl time. I packed a light bag. I would probably leave by the end of the weekend.
Caroline was driving. Holly had shot gun. I was in the back. I was reading and they were talking. I was once again escaping to the world of books. I really need a life. Oh well. They tried their best and made me look good. They forced me to wear a tank top and jeans. I looked good though. They curled my hair and put light makeup. I looked normal.
We had lunch out. It was fun having a good girls day. We even did a little shopping. The girls helped me figure out some new styles they wanted me to try. We had fun.
We were a hour away when I really got nervous. They helped me calm down. We chatted for an hour. That was nice. I didn't have very many friends so this was nice.
We got to the castle. Michael and Julian were outside talking a walk. They were the first to greet us.
"Girls." Julain said, wrapping us in a hug.
"Mom. She does this every time we come back." Caroline wined.
"You love it!" Caroline laughed.
"Thanks for letting me stay at such short order." I said.
"Don't even think about that! You are one of the family now." Michael said.
"Now, before you go see him, there's somethings you need to know." Julian stared.
"Okay."
"He might not answer his door. He is different and down. But I really think you can fix that with him." She smiled at me.
"Thanks. Is he in his room?"
"Yep. Good luck dear." I smiled at her.
I would have to face the music sometime. I walked in his suite. I knocked but no one answered. His mom says he doesn't really care anymore. I walked in. I heard voices in one of the back rooms. I knocked on the bedroom door. I heard a groan.
"Mom, I'm busy come back later." He said. I heard a giggle in the room. A famine giggle. Please don't be what I think it is....
"Well it's not your mother. And I'm only here for a short time so time is of the needed." I said, strained but I tried to keep my voice even. I heard a cuss word.
He opened the door, just a crack. Not enough to say inside. But I knew he had some one in there. I could tell by the lipstick all over his naked chest. He actually was having sex with other women. I thought the newspapers were just lying. Making a bigger story. The tears sprang in my eyes.
"Victoria, what are you doing here?" He asked, still surprised.
"Well, since everything, I came to tell you to find yourself a new future wife." He gulped.
"It's not like that-"
"Damon, what is she talking about? You are engaged?" The girl in there asked.
"It's not like that." He said.
"Then what is it?" Both of us girls asked.
"I'm forced to marry her." He explained.
"Forced?" I couldn't take it anymore. "You are just like everyone else that ever hurt me. Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken?"
I walked out of the suite. He called my name but I didn't care. I couldn't believe him. I run to the extra room with Jeremy, Holly, and Caroline. I cried. Holly and Caroline were there, holding me.
