Chapter I.

It was 9 am.

I couldn't be in the house so I put the leash on Zeus' collar and went out to take him for a walk.

I needed a gulp of fresh air. Everything was strangling me. My dad wanted to get over my mom's death as soon as possible and I couldn't understand it. I know that my parents were in the middle of divorce but for Christ's sake,they were married for 17 years. He had to have some feelings towards her.

She cheated on him. That was the main reason they were getting a divorce. My dad was devastated. Cole,my twin brother,didn't really care about everything that was happening. He started getting home early in the morning,intoxicated and mad. I thought that it was his way of dealing with everything,but I was wrong. He actually didn't care.

The snow was slowly falling as Zeus and I walked into the park. He loved snow. He would jump all around and wave his tale like crazy. Zeus is a two years old golden retriver. My little baby. He gave me strenght to go through all this. And my friend Melanie. She will always be there for me. Mel acts more as sibling to me than Cole ever would. I couldn't understand Cole's behavior. He used to be so nice and caring,artisitic. He loved drawing. Oh,he loved that. It was his favourite thing to do.

Cole changed about four years ago,when we were 14. His best friend at that time,Ray,died in a car accident. Cole was in the car,just like Ray's parents and his little sister Fiona. Everyone survived except Ray. It was heartbreaking.

"Who's a good boy?" I asked as Zeus approached me with some snow on his nose.

"Woof!" he put his front paws on my lap.

"I love you little fella'." I hugged him.

I really did love him. More than anything. My dad got him two years ago when mom and him went through a tough time. He was my little baby.

As I watched Zeus play in the snow,I felt my phone vibrating in the pocket.

Hey Z,what's up? :) -M ,it was a message from Mel.

Hey Mel,I'm in a park with Zeus,how about you? -Z

Watching a movie with Deedee. Little mermaid. Toddlers. -M

Hahahah,that's too cute. :) -Z

Would you like to come and watch with us? -M

I really don't feel like it,it's too late. -Z

You can sleepover. My mom wouldn't mind,you know she adores you(even tho I don't get why but Idk) :P -M

Jerk. That's not actually how you invite your friend to come over,you know. But that's none of my business... -Z

C'mon,Z,I'm dying here. I've watched Frozen with her like a billion times today and I know that we'll watch it again when Little mermaid is over. Save me,fren. Pls. -M

Such wow. Much Frozen. Wow. -Z

Okay,okay. Is Darell home? -Z

No,he's at the party. I had to stay and look after DeeDee. Of course. -M

Zeus came exhausted.

"Wanna go home,boy?"

He placed his head on my lap,what meant that he wanted me to put the leash on and go.
