As I walked back to the lift in my soaking wet clothes I couldn't get that boy out of my mind. I had a bath then put on a pair of black jeans, purple doc martens and a hoodie to keep me cosy. I decided to writr a list of everything I had to do.

TO DO:

*call matt

*look for a job

*ring the hospital

*find a place to stay

I looked at what I'd written. It was achievable in a day. I'd make sure of it.

I wandered into the local town that I'd never been to near the hotel, thankfully there were plenty of signs to follow. I tried a restaurant, a clothes boutique, a betting shop and a bar but none of them were looking for employees. The town was small but pretty in the autumn. Leaves lined the cobbled pavements and shops were neatly painted with displays in every window. I came across a little coffee shop on a corner that was advertising jobs in the window.

"Hi are you are you still looking for workers?" I asked politely, trying to make a good impression.  It was busy inside and I could only see two people working. "Yes, yes we definitely are! If you come back at 4pm when we close we can give you an interview honey is that alright?" A woman in her mid 40's tells me. "That's perfect, thank you! See you at 4". Well that was one thing nearly ticked of my list.

I thought I'd next tackle ringing the hospital to find out how my mum was. She'd had schizophrenia and depression ever since I was born. I had grown up in many care homes but I never blamed my mum, it was not her fault.

I hated ringing the hospital she stayed in though, but I called every week to check on her. "Hello, Lightfields Mental Health Centre can I help you?" the same voice always answered. "Can you put me through to Jennifer Cuthbert please?" I asked. "Oh, hi Kate sweetie! Sure I will" I waited to hear my mums voice down the line. "Kate this isn't a good time I'm sorry" my mum snapped. "Oh I ca-" she cut me off. I sighed. Brilliant.

The next thing I had to do was call matt after the fight we'd had yesterday. After he hit me again I had no choice but to run away.. now I just had to make sure he wouldn't find me.
