(So the song at top is Mercy by Shawn Mendes. There is a certain part of this chapter that I would like you to play it at and I will say when to play the song! Thank yooouuu for picking this story! I hope you like it! >.< -Kali)
"This is such a drag," I complained as I laid my head down on the bar that I sat at with Levy. Her eyes averted away from the old ancient looking book and up at me.
"It isn't that bad," Levy said causing me to roll my eyes. We were currently sitting in the guild hall. Music was playing around us as everyone celebrated the win of the Grand Magic Games. Apparently to the entire guild, one party isn't enough.
I huffed and sat my head up into the palms of my hands. "Yes it is! I've been sitting here nearly the entire time and absolutely no one has asked me to dance. You on the other hand, have been constantly moving. It's like you have Jet, Droy, and Gajeel in the palms of your hands," I grumbled, pouting into space.
"If the only issue you have from here on out is that, then you will be living great, Lucy," Levy said. There was a short pause before Levy shot up from her seat, "And I do not, absolutely not, have anyone in the palm of my hands!" She shouted. Did she just realize I said that?
"Hey Levy, care to dance?" Jet asked magically appearing behind us. I sat up and gave Levy a look that said 'I told you so' causing Levy to glare at me. I nearly laughed. A glare from her is like a glare from a cute little kitten.
She smirked at me, "Sure thing, Jet," She said as she stood up and walked away. I realized right then what she was doing. That evil bookworm is leaving me here alone!
I sighed and l moved back to my previous position, but leaning my head into only one of my hands as I glanced at everyone. They all seemed to be having a good time. Nearly everyone that participated in the Grand Magic Games filled the guild hall. I smiled seeing everyone laughing and having a great time. Just watching everyone filled me with joy.
"Stop being suck a wet blanket and join the fun, Luce!" Natsu shouted snapping me out of my thoughts. I barely had enough time to catch my balance as he grabbed the arm I was leaning on from beneath my head and pulled me towards everyone.
Three upbeat songs had past then a slower song started to play. I let out a small laugh as I watched Lisanna drag everyone's favorite fire dragon slayer to the very middle of the guild hall. It was obvious, the feelings Lisanna had for Natsu. I am pretty sure everyone besides Natsu could see it too. I let out a small sigh as I went to find my usual seat at the bar. As soon as I turned around to head that way, though, I ran straight into someone.
"Sorry," I said as I looked up so I could see who exactly I ran into, "Laxus." I never really realized how his size compares to mine. Laxus literally towered over my 5'5 height. He could easily be a foot taller than me. I started to walk around him, but his hand gripping onto my wrist stopped me.
(Play song now)
"You, uh, wanna dance?" He asked with his free hand scratching the back of his hand. Laxus was normally remarkably intimidating, but the way that he couldn't look me in the eyes as he asked me to dance made him seem more, I don't know, infantile? Yeah, that's the word, child like.
"Yeah, that would be great," I replied with a grin of amusement planted on my lips. He kept a bland expression on his face as his hand moved from my wrist, to my hand. His other hand slowly moved down to my waist.
He moved my body along with the beat of the music. My eyes were open wide in shock at the way we moved along the floor. It was as if we were dancing on air. Each step he took back, I stepped forward and every step he took toward, I took one back. Our feet moved perfectly in sync. I looked up at him and found his eyes staring down into mine. His grey eyes seemed to be piercing into my soul. The song turned upbeat as the drumming started causing him to spin me around the floor in a faster pace.
The song slowed down a bit, but our dancing didn't. Somehow, our movements still managed to stay with the beat of the music. The upbeat chorus sounded again. I was just able to keep up with his dancing. I mentally thanked the many ball room dancing lessons over the years. As soon as the chorus ended, the dance got more extreme. What is going on? I thought to myself. This danced seemed unreal, as if it was a dream, but if it was a dream why would it be Laxus in it? Why him of all people?
The tension in the song built up and suddenly, he pulled away from me, but the hand that was on my waist slipped into my hand. Both of out hands were interlocked as he spun me. The way he did so caused me to be pinned to his chest as both of us faced forward with his arms holding me tightly. The music seemed to pause for a solid six seconds and the whole time he held me tightly in a way that made it seem as if I was going to run away if he loosened his grip.
As soon as the music started up again, he spun me a million miles an hour. both of his hands found their way around my waist and he unexpectedly lifted me into the air and he turned in a circle. Many more extraordinary moves past before he dipped me for the last time. The song officially ended then. I felt the tip of my hair touch the ground, but I paid no notice to it because my eyes were glued to Laxus's.
I started at him in wonder. I was curious. I wanted to know what exactly that was. Never before had I seen, no, felt so much passion coming off of a person. Maybe it was just that he had a thing for dancing, but I felt the need to know.
The sudden sound of clapping caused me to blink away my thoughts. It had seemed to do the same for Laxus because he instantly stood me up after that. I glanced around myself seeing everyone who was in the guild hall either clapping or staring in shock. A circle had formed around us. The feeling of my face flushing red came over me. I swiftly ran towards a darker corner of the guild hall while Laxus went the opposite way.
What. Just. Happened?
