"El." His voice was breathless,  "El, the Death Eaters are outside Hogwarts." He gripped Ellie even tighter by the shoulders, his knuckles white, his deep brown eyes staring into hers.

She let a solo tear leak out of her eyes,  and she moved her hands up into his ginger hair, and she knew how scared she was. Pupils pushed past them, but Ellie and Fred were trapped in their own bubble, of that moment of calm before before the storm.

"Please, just promise me, promise me you'll try at stay safe." His voice was pleading, desperate. She shook her head,

"Only if you do the same, Freddy boy." her voice hide a hint of amusement, because she knew Fred could never stay out of trouble, never stray from being the hero he was born to be.

"How about you just stay out of trouble, Ellie. You're far too precious to me for you to die just yet."  He smiled. Ellie laughed weakly, but pulled her face closer to his, so they were touching noses.

Their perfect conversation was broken as the protection shield that was above Hogwarts broke. Ellie and Fred looked at each other, sadness in both their eyes.

They broke apart, both running towards the courtyard, the light of different spells flashing on their faces.

"Fred," Ellie said, stopping, her face deathly pale,

"Yes," His voice showed no sign of terror, he was brave, just as he always had been.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

A spell came towards them, and they broke apart,

"Expelliarmus!" Ellie yelled, the spell hitting a Death Eater, she followed it up with "Impedimenta!"

She saw spells hitting people all around her, but as she ran to help to help a third year who was being rounded on by a Death Eater.

"Incarcerous!" The Death Eater fell to the floor, ropes gagging him.

But, just as she was going to help the third year up, she heard someone screech a spell from behind her.

"EXPULSO!"

She turned, the impact of the explosion blowing her backwards, as soon as the smoke had cleared, she saw that ginger hair, that tall frame, lying on the ground...

"FRED! FRED!" She was screaming, running towards him.

She knelt by his side, the tears streaming down her face,

"Fred, Fred, no, no. Please, please, please no, talk to me, Fred." He was dead. Ellie knew it, but Voldemort was speaking, and LunaLovegood was signalling for her to be quiet. But the whole world was slow, nothing moving, time around her was in fast forward, and before she knew it, Harry was duelling with Voldemort, but she didn't care, her Fred, was dead.

And then she blacked out.

"Ellie? Ellie, dear, it's ok, the battle's over." She could hear Molly Weasleys voice, but it was tearful, and she remembered that Fred was... gone...
