It was a cold, rainy morning in London. Phil and Dan were sat on the couch watching anime and drinking their morning coffee.
"I can't believe that tomorrow is your golden birthday, Phil. My child has grown up so fast.." Dan said, sarcastically.
"Yeah.." Phil replied. He had a hint of sadness in his voice, almost like he was going to cry.
"What's wrong..?" Dan questioned as he looked at his friend. "Aren't you excited for your birthday?"
Phil said nothing as he swiftly got up and walked to his room, still holding his coffee mug. Dan heard his bedroom door close softly.
He thought that he better go and check on Phil, it was abnormal for him to be acting so down.
Dan got up and slowly walked to Phil's door. He put his hand on the knob, but stopped when he heard the noise coming from inside. It was a soft noise, and Dan could barely hear it at first, but it was the noise of crying.
Dan opened the door gently and peered inside to see Phil sat on the corner of his bed with his hands on his face.
Dan walked over to the bed and sat down quietly next to his friend.
"Phil..." he said, putting an arm around him. "Are you alright?"
Phil sniffed and removed his hands from his eyes, looking at Dan.
"I.....I don't want to grow up" Phil whispered, choking on tears. He leaned his head onto Dan's shoulder as he began to cry some more.
"Oh.. I- I understand now.." Dan said, putting his other arm around Phil, pulling him into a warm hug.
"It's alright, Phil." Dan whispered, as he didn't know what else to say. What do you say to a remark like that?
Phil's cries lasted a while until they softened into small hiccups. He looked back up at his friend.
"I.. I'm sorry, Dan. I just really, really don't want to grow up. I like acting like a kid on videos.. a- and with you" he said, leaning into Dan a little more.
Dan looked at Phil. "I truly feel the same way" he said, planting a small kiss on the tip of Phil's nose.
Phil giggled a little. "Thanks, Dan. You always know how to cheer me up." He said, putting his arms around him so they were tightly hugging.
Dan looked at his friend. He had always loved Phil, both platonically and romantically. The truth was, he didn't want Phil to grow up either. Going on tour and writing books with his best friend and lover were truly amazing, and he didn't want it to end. Not that it would, but Dan only felt as if all the fun were ending with the coming of age.
"I- I love you, Dan. You know that, right?" Phil said.
Dan looked at Phil, smiling. "Always." He grinned, kissing Phil softly. "No matter how old you are, I'll still love you, no matter what. And it's okay if you grow up, because it doesn't even matter, as long as we have YouTube, and each other, we can act how ever we want"
Phil grinned and wiped his red eyes. "Thanks, Dan." He said, still hugging his friend.
"I love you."
"I love you, too"
