~image above is how I imagine Zachariah~
Zachariah Mathias
Zachariah had only just closed his eyes when multiple bangs on his door startled him awake. He wasn't the type of person to be startled by such a simple thing as knocking, but something about this new mission had him constantly on edge. After leaving the training room and bidding Calix good night, he had returned to his room only to remain restless. His mind was still circling around questions and why he had such little information. What was so important about Evianna Sharora?
Calix's bangs had turned into light, rhythmic knocks that were making Zachariah's skin crawl with annoyance. Calix, his partner, and best friend could sometimes even manage to annoy him.
"I'm up!" Zachariah called.
"Ally says to meet in the courtyard in half an hour!" Calix's voice carried through the wooden door.
"Be careful. If Alison hears you calling her that, she'll personally cut your tongue out." Zachariah replied, and heard Calix laugh in return before his footsteps faded away.
Zachariah pushed himself out of bed, not needing to get dressed for he had already done so the night before while he had been pacing his room in anticipation. He wore black traveling gear that was padded in the shoulders, chest, thighs, and calves in case they ran across any unwelcome company. Mostly, he only fretted running across Hunters that would mistake him for a Human, but with the new threat in Trionate's southern border, close to The Stilan, he wasn't taking any chances.
Although Humans and Nephilim shared features, most could sense the difference. Zachariah was not sure how it worked, but he had run across many other species who, at first look, were disgusted by his Human appearance, until realization dawned on them.
Wandering into the bathroom- a small room that resembled the old Human civilization's bathroom with a sink, mirror, toilet, and shower- he splashed cool water onto his face to rid himself of his exhaustion and weariness. Zachariah had already packed clothes, food, and gold- Etoria Empire's currency- for the trip. He sheathed his longsword, ferrum in pace, and more assortments of weapons over his body.
All Nephilim lived and trained in the kingdom of Voleaven, at the Academy that stood like a castle by a cliff's edge. The massive castle- a structure of stone walls, with thousands of windows to let in the early morning light- had taken Zachariah months to explore in his free time. The rest of the Nephilim, those who never made it past training or those who had graduated, along with the trainee's families, lived in the surrounding villages. Even though "village" seemed like too small of a word, it was more like a city of stone and wood houses and shops scattered across the lush flat green plains. Zachariah rarely stepped foot into the village, for he had no family to visit.
Zachariah had been to the Kingdom of the Elves, Trionate, and had caught a glimpse of the marble and glass palace, circled by smaller homes. Trionate was a beautiful place completed with dark evergreen trees that surrounded the land. Nephilim, despite being the most powerful of all the races, didn't want control. So the Elves had seized it instead.
