I woke up but I wasn't with Jason or Lily. I was somewhere else, it was not where I ever thought I would ever be. The place was dead, the grass was dead as well as the trees and flowers. At the same time they weren't dead if that makes any sense. The animals were walking skeletons, the sky was a deep blood red like my eyes. This was hell, this is where half of me came from. I spotted a dark figure leaning on a grave stone in the middle of the place. I walked towards it, brushing my finger tips on the trees and plants. As I came closer I could see the cold blue eyes staring at my red ones. His features became visible as I was merely three feet away. My heart froze and broke. In front of me was the only Richard Williamson himself. My twin brother, who had died in the fire.
"Alex?" He said in monotone voice, he looked at me with a deadly glare.
"Richard."
"Why long time no see."
I was silent. I took in his appearance, he had jet black hair that covered his forehead, cold blue eyes and pale skin just like mine.
"You didn't even save me,Alex."
"I really tried, Richard."
"Liar!" He yelled with rage.
I tried! I really did, How are you even alive, Richard!" I screamed back with tears coming down my face.
"I was brought back to life by a priest, they made me a halfling. Aren't you happy I'm alive Alex?" He questioned .
In a instant he was in front of me grabbing my arms. Pulling me towards the grave stone. It opened up like a vertex, waiting for us to step through. I began to squirm but his look calmed me down. I didn't want to lose him again.
"I am happy rich, but how? You died." I asked confused while sobbing. If he was a halfling then he would be a demon one. Angel halflings aren't allowed here, they can't even cross over to this place. Why didn't he have red eyes like me? These questions kept repeating in my brain.
"Follow me, I know what your wondering. I'll explain on the way." He said as he let go of my arms and grabbed my hand gently. I began to follow him until a sharp pain on my cheek suddenly woke me up for real. I looked at the face's of Jason and Lily. They looked terrified. I felt broken inside, I had barely gotten my brother back and I lost him again. I began to cry again as I looked at Lily and said.
"He's alive but he's gone."
I covered my face with my hands, I couldn't help but feel like I let him down again. Jason and Lily both wrapped their arms around me but I didn't want them to, I just wanted my brother. I got up and ignored their looks of confusion. I walked over to the door and stepped out. It was cold outside and it was still raining. I kept walking until I could no longer see the shack anymore. I was surrounded by a whole bunch of trees. That's when I let myself break apart. I extended my claws and took out my anger and pain on the trees. I slumped down until my hands met the ground. I was drenched, I was cold but I didn't care. I felt my face being licked and I looked up surprised. There was a black wolf pup licking my face. I looked closer and saw the blood red eyes.
"It's okay, I won't hurt you." I say calmly at the shifted person. The wolf unsuited to reveal a 11 year old boy with coffee cream hair.
"Hi," he said nicely.
I smile at his adorableness.
"Are you alone?" I asked.
"Yes, ma'am."
"Do you want to come with me?"
"Can I?"
"Of course," I said picking him up and placing him on my back.
"Why are you crying?" He asked politely.
"I found out my brother is alive but I lost him. I don't know where he is."
"I can be your brother and then maybe you won't be as sad." He said excitedly.
I laughed and jumped causing him to giggle.
"That would be amazing, kid. By the way what's your name?"
"Charlie, and yours?"
"Alex, You can shift?"
"Yeah! Into different animals and people! Are you like me? You know a halfling? A demon one?" He asked with a lot of curiosity.
"Yeah, I am. My powers are different from yours though." I said
We walked back to the shack and stepped inside but I realized that I may have lost my brother for a bit longer but life gave me another one.
Charlie and I smiled at one another, we formed a bond no one would ever break.
