Chapter 9

After driving for many long hours we reached Dallas Texas. It was about 2 am and I was almost positive I was the only one awake, since I was driving. I pulled into a gas station so I could google the nearest hotel. “Might as well fill up gas since I’m here”, I thought to myself. A tap on the window startled me. I rolled down the window and a creepy 40 year old man smiled at me. “Hello little lady, welcome to Texas, Can I get ya anything?” I nodded. “A regular fillup”, I stated. He nodded and the creepy smile remained plastered to his face. “Anything for a pretty lady. You gotta pay inside the shop there.”, he pointed towards the Getty shop. I unlocked the door, took my phone, my purse and the car keys with me and locked the door. I walked into the getty shop and paid the man behind the counter who looked a lot less creepy. “Thank you ma’am have a good day”. I nodded with a light smile. As I exited the shop I felt a hand on my arm. “Whats a pretty girl like you doing out alone?”, the same creepy man asked me. “I’m not alone my friends are in the car. Could you leave me alone?”. His grip on my arm tightened. “Nah why should I let you go when we could have some fun.”. The man winked at me and moved his other hand near my face. I kneed him in the balls and yelled as loud as I could “HARRY!”

Harry’s Pov

“HARRY!”, I heard a familiar voice call my name. I looked out to see Marley running towards the car with a psycho chasing her. Shit. How could I have fallen asleep on her. I unlocked the car and ran towards her. The man caught her wrists again. I clenched my fists and punched the man in the eye. “Get your shitty hands off her” I knocked him out and took Marley in my arms and walked her to the passengers side and sat her in. “Harry what the hell happened.”, Danielle spoke. “Marley you’re shaking.”, Liam pointed out. I looked at Marley to see the poor girl shaking in her seat. I took off my sweatshirt and handed it to her. “Here put this on Mars.” After she put my sweatshirt on I put her seatbelt on and drove away. I pulled in to the nearest DaysInn. I turned the car off and turned to Marley. “I am so sorry. I shouldn’t have fallen asleep on you like that. I feel horrible.”, I began. “Harry, Harry, HARRY!”, She cut me off. “Relax Harry it’s okay.”, Marley said. “Marley you were shaking. You were terrified. The man almost raped you.”, Danielle said. “Mars it’s not ok. I should’ve been awake. I should’ve been the one to go out there and pay.”, I said. Marley grabbed my hand and some sort of spark ran through my arm. “The important thing is you came out there in time and you saved me.” I looked up into her eyes and she smiled at me and butterflies erupted in my stomach.
