Searching

(Quick Note: This isn't finished just yet, there's more after this but I haven't completely finished it yet and still needs a ton of revising. This is all for now, but I'll make a vigorous attempt to update this fairly quickly!)

Well, this is going to take forever... Kai thought as he wandered in the dimly lit, cold, and wind filled desert.

He was currently searching for a thing the locals called "Omen", which was described as a very tall "knight" clad in completely black armor carrying a sword taller than the people fighting it. Not necessarily someone who Kai really wanted to speak to, except that he had heard of this person before on other planets. It was always the same description, and Kai didn't really think it was a coincidence when he heard that exact same description again on a completely different planet.
The thing that interested Kai about this mysterious person was that on every occasion of hearing about it, the few people who survived described the thing as "untouchable", saying that their attacks went right through it, or that it disappeared and reappeared sporadically. Definitely something Kai wanted to look into, as if this wasn't the fighters just seeing things (which was highly unlikely), that means that he was dealing with abilities he had never seen before. Who knew what discoveries Kai could make with that knowledge? He had to at least see this thing.
Holding his hands in front of his face, Kai had to squint his eyes so that sand didn't get in them as the wind blew furiously-- cold sand at that.
It's daytime! I can see the sun! Well, barely... but still! Why is the sand so cold?!
Kai sighed in frustration. This was going to take forever.
Note to self: NEVER GO TO THIS PLANET EVER AGAIN. IT SUCKS.
He really hoped that this thing would be cooperative if he went through so much trouble to get to him. He really hoped...
Thus, the search began.

Two hours. Two hours wasted finding nothing. Maybe even longer! I don't even know at this point! You'd think that something this big and dangerous would be easy to spot...
Groaning in frustration, Kai fell back in the grey sand, too tired to stand up. This did not go as planned.
Who knows how long it'll take before I get a clue to it's whereabouts again, he thought to himself as he lay on the cold, dark sand. It was getting darker around him as, he assumed, the sun lowered in the sky.
Just to make sure, He Pulsed one last time, hoping he would at least feel something. The transparent wave exited him, and he soon felt, saw, and knew practically everything about what the pulse touched. Nifty, that. It moved in a spherical fashion, like a shockwave after a giant explosion, lasting as long as Kai could keep his focus. The drawback is that, of course, it required a lot of focus to make it travel as far he sometimes needed it to. All the information that he got was sometimes a pain too (literally in some cases), which is another reason why it took so much focus. Nobody else could see it from what Kai knew, making it a very useful ability to have.
What a strange feeling it was, especially in a desert, what with all the particles it held. He'd gotten used to filtering out unneeded things by now, though it--
Wait. What was that?
Kai felt something that definitely wasn't sand. There was too much of it in one spot to be sand.
It was a person.
He jolted up where he lay, eyes wide open, the energy of discovery coursing through him. He looked frantically in the direction in which he felt it-- nothing. It must be a ways away.
The boy got to his feet and bolted in that direction. He didn't want to miss this.
As he ran, he could slowly start to see an outline of a person in the distance-- was it who he was searching for?
As he got closer, the sand started to clear (thank Absolution for that), and Kai was able to get a better look at what he found. In the distance, he saw the outline of what appeared to be two men (both holding blades), and they seemed to be fighting... wait, what was that?
A much larger outline stood ahead of the two men. Much larger. The thing was holding a blade in it's right hand, a massive one at that. That had to be what he was looking for. Kai had no intention of walking up to this battle.  The giant had a long, flowing black cape (he assumed) behind it. It seemed almost regal in appearance, which must've sparked some people to call it a "knight". A small, solid red light was being emitted from the right side of its head. Was it a laser pointer or something? Kai didn't know what it could be, choosing to ignore it for now, as there was a battle commencing.

It didn't exactly seem to be a battle, though, as Kai got a closer look. The two men weren't advancing on their massive foe, obviously nervous about fighting the thing. Kai didn't blame them on that.

The thing wasn't advancing either. Was this a staring contest or something?
After a few more moments of nothing happening, the behemoth in front of them started to... turn around. Wait, was it walking away?
Indeed, it was. It was as bored as Kai was, it seemed. One of the men didn't seem too happy about that.
He raised his blade, charging at the giant with a battle cry. The man prepared to strike his foe-- only to be met with a fist. The giant had turned, the back of it's fist colliding with his face. Kai heard the bones crack from where he stood, the man falling to the sand with a thud. He fell still.
Oh...
In a vain attempt to avenge his friend, the other man ran and swung at the giant. It only raised a hand and caught the blade. The giant struck the man's blade with his own as he held it, the swing shattering the sword as it struck. It still held the top of his blade.
The man stepped back, terrified. He couldn't exactly fight with a broken sword. Kai watched, eyes wide, as the giant rammed the blade he still held into the petrified man's abdomen, screaming in pain from the blow. The giant then grabbed the man by the neck, lifting him up. It turned, the man still in his grasp, struggling to breathe, and slammed him into the ground below. Kai could practically feel the life crushed from the man as he made impact, grey sand flying upwards around him. He didn't move afterwards.
Kai gulped. Was this really something he wanted to talk to...?
