Chapter 5: The Young and the Axe-less

Lilly's POV

I sat on Jerome's lap, playing Minecraft. I had a blindfold on, controlling the game. Jerome was my

eyes. 

"BIGRICHIE TO YOUR LEFT! OMG COOKIES! WUBBIE! RUN RUN RUNN!" he screamed. I giggled.

Pretty soon, I heard Mitch screaming. I heard Victoria screaming back. Door slamming. Screeching

tires. She was gone. I got off of Jerome's lap, and pulled him to his feet. I was about to take the blind

fold off, but Jerome said, "Wait, I have a surprise for you."

Mitch's POV

I had done it. I broke up with Victoria. She was gone. I went upstairs, to find Jerome and Lilly or, 

excuse me, Lillian, standing close together. Jerome said, "Wait I have a surprise for you," when

Lilly was going to take her blindfold off. Before Jerome could lean in, I moved him out of the way,

and I kissed Lilly. She smiled in between the kiss, and said, "Jerome you're amazing." That was

when I decided she needed to know who she was kissing. I slipped her blindfold off. She saw me,

her eyes growing wide. She looked scared, and sad. She wiped her mouth, and ran out. Jerome

tried to chase after her, but I held him back.

"WHAT THE HECK, MITCH?!" he screamed. I drowned him out. I didn't want to deal with anything

right now. I walked out. I walked to Lilly and I's spot. I saw her. I knew she would be here. I walked

over to her, and sat besider her. She turned and saw me, and turned away.

"Lilly, hear me out." I pleaded. I heard her sniffle. She turned to me.

"You broke my heart." she whispered.

"I know I did what I did but I lo...I like you a lot." I chickened out. She stared at me. She wasn't 

convinced. I watched as she blinked, tears rolling down her eyes.

"Mitch...you ruined me. I thought I was happy, but I guess I'm not allowed anymore!"

"It's not like that, Lil,"

"DON'T call me that! If anything, I shouldn't even talk to you! You're so selfish!"

"LILLIAN WENCH! LISTEN!"

"NO! MITCHELL HUGHES! YOU LISTEN! I loved you. I can't believe I'm saying that, but I did. I loved

you. I've never loved anyone, in my life. But, I loved you! And then, I knew it was the right thing at the

time to come to L.A with you, because I loved you! I saw trust in your eyes. I broke all of my 

boundaries for you! I felt attraction for you! I LOVED you! I've just never felt this way about anyone

or anything, no matter HOW many stories and poems I write, I never understood love, until I met you.

And now, you destroyed me, just like Derek did when he broke my heart!" she screamed. I could

feel my face grow pale. She kept screaming. So, I grabbed her, and threw her into the pool. She

surfaced, and started screaming. I jumped in, and grabbed her, and kissed her. She was silent.

I pulled back. She looked miserable. "Lilly. Lil. Lillian. I love the guts out of you. Frankly my dear, I

don't give a damn about Derek. Love is the most beautiful thing ever, but at the same time, it is the

most crazy thing ever." she was silent. I could see her thinking. Then, a car pulled up. I didn't

recognize it. The shiny, black, Ferrari parked in the driveway. Out stepped a guy with wind blown

brown hair, perfect body, perfect face, perfect everything. He walked to the front door, and I heard

him ask for Lilly. Jerome answered the door, tears staining his face. "She's in the pool..." he

muttered. I watched as he walked over, Lilly escaping my arms so she would look available.

"Hey, Lil." he asked, slick dripping from his voice.

"Derek?" she asked. Derek lifted his hand down, and let her out of the pool. He put his hand on her

back, and led her to his car. I saw them talking, Lilly blushing. Then, they hugged and he kissed her

cheek. She blushed even more, and they kept getting closer. Anger surged through me. He was a

jerk. And she's falling right into his trap.  I swam to get out of the pool, and stalked inside. I looked

back. She hadn't even noticed I was there.

Derek's POV A/N oohh it's goin down I'm yellin timberrr

She's just as foolish as she was in high school. Good old Lil, falling for widdle Derek's tricks. I feel

bad. V was right. She was a hopeless cause. I just need to make sure she's not on to me. I made up

a long and heartfelt apology, and she bought it like it was a winning lottery ticket. She's such an 

idiot. And to think, she was top of our class. 

Lilly's POV

Derek. Derek. Derek. It's all I can think about. I slip on a turquoise, strapless, mini dress. I pair it 

with gold sandals and a gold necklace and earrings. I apply a light coat of mascara. I walk out. To

my dismay, Mitch is the only one sitting in the living room. He looks up, and checks me out. 

"Hey.." he says, distracted. I try to smile, but even a forced smile isn't working. I look down. I see him

get up, and he comes closer. He grabs my waist. I try to wriggle out, but his strong hands are too

stronkg. A/N SEE WHAT I DID THERE) "Lilly, I love you." he says. I shake my head, and look down.

"I used to love you..." I mutter. He's distracting me, with his chocolate brown eyes and perfect hair.

I feel him lean in. I look right into his eyes. I pull away from his grip. I see his eyes drop to a

depressing level. I swallow, and he curses under his breath. I hear him say, "You look beautiful."

I feel like crying. Love is impossibruh. I grab his shoulder, and spin him around. "Thank you." I say.

He grabs a piece of fly away hair, and tucks it behind my ear. "You couldn't see your beautiful eyes."

he whispers. He walks out, and I feel my knees weaken. I hate love.
