By now Callie was crying. Just then Dr. Robins came back with the stuff. "Did I miss something?" Dr. Robins asked. "Sorry. She's just a hormonal mess." Brandon said rubbing Callie's back. "I understand. My wife got like this when she was pregnant with our daughter. Really we both did. But we had our reasons. We went through the worst time of our lives. We were in a situation like Callie but it was much worse." Dr. Robins said. She now had tears streaming down her cheeks.

"May I ask what happened?" Callie asked. She had finally stopped crying when she realized that her doctor was now crying. "Well me and my wife were in our car and I was driving. We were talking and I said "marry me." And she was like "what?" And I said "marry me." She was thinking about it and just as I was about to say something we hit the back of a truck going at a pretty good speed. Next thing I new she had been thrown out of the car and I was all cut up. She was laying on the ground and she looked dead. I was so scared. I called our hospital and she was rushed to the emergency room. Me and the guy who helped us have a baby, who was also a doctor, we're not aloud in the operating room. We had to wait in the watching gallery. We were so scared. But luckily all the doctors trying to save her were our close friends, and we trusted them. They tried as hard as they could to keep our baby inside of her since she was only six months along at the time but it was too risky. She was about to flatline, then the baby was about to flatline, so the OBGYN doctor had to take our little girl out. She looked so tiny. I was crying. Everyone started singing How To Save Life as soon as they started operating on My wife. I watched them try to save our daughter but could not take it anymore. So I rushed into the OR and helped to save our girl. Luckily they both lived. But it was so close." Dr. Robins said crying.

"Oh wow! I'm so sorry. I'm glad they are ok. You've had a rough life." Callie said. "That's not even all that's ever happened to me or my fellow doctors." Dr. Robins said. "Wanna talk about it?" Callie asked. "I do but I need to check on your little nugget first." Dr. Robins replied. "Ok. Maybe at my next appointment." Callie said lifting her dress keeping the blanket on her legs. "Sure. Sounds great." Dr. Robins replied squirting gel on Callie's stomach. She then moved the wand around till she came to their baby. "And here is your little boy." Dr. Robins said.

"He's so adorable. How is he looking?" Callie asked. "Um..." Dr. Robins replied looking closely at the screen. Callie could tell that Dr. Robins looked worried. "Is everything ok?" Callie asked looking worried. "Brandon? Can you come with me?" Dr. Robins asked. "Sure." Brandon replied and followed Dr. Robins out of the room. "So what's going on? Is Callie ok? Is our boy ok?" Brandon asked starting to panic. "Yes. Callie's ok. And the baby, we'll, that's a different story." Dr. Robins said.

"What do you mean that's a different story? Is our baby boy gonna die?" Brandon asked. Tears were now streaming down his face. "No. Your baby boy is not gonna die." Dr. Robins replied. "Then what's going on. Why did you look worried when you were doing the sonogram?" Brandon asked. "Here. Let's sit down." Dr. Robins said leading Brandon over to two chairs. They sat down and Dr. Robins started to talk.

"Look. Brandon. Callie is gonna be ok. Your baby is gonna be ok. It's just that I found something abnormal on your baby." Dr. Robins said. "What is it?" Brandon asked starting to cry. "Well I found something called a Soft Marker. There are different types of Soft Markers." Dr. Robins said. "Ok. And what is a Soft Marker?" Brandon asked. "A Soft Marker is a finding that, in and of themselves, won't cause the baby any problems but might indicate that the baby has an underlying Chromosome Abnormality. I don't know which Soft Marker I found, But I can do some testing if you want so I can determine which Soft Marker your baby boy has. Would that be ok with you?" Dr. Robins said.

"Well I would want to talk to Callie first and let her know what's going on." Brandon said crying. "Yes absolutely. Let's go back into the room and talk with Callie." Dr. Robins said as she and Brandon walked back into the room.
