Evelynn Grames sat quietly on a silver-backed bench. Waiting.

Just waiting.

Waiting for him to arrive. He had promised her that he would come by the park to talk to her. Damien Woodmoore with his perfectly beautiful dirty blonde hair.

She had tried asking for the wifi password, but none of the locals bothered to realize that she was talking to them.

Angry with herself for being too early (although Cat might refer it to being fashionably early), Evelynn tossed her handbag over her shoulder when she heard the sweet tip-tapping of the person she had been waiting for.

"Where were you!" she blurted out, however, trying to be nicer in a sort of way.

"It's 2:45," he said, tilting his head. "You did say 2:45."

Evelynn sighed and slumped on the metallic bench. Damien simply settled right beside her, barely minding that their thighs were making warm contact with each other.

"What was it you wanted to talk to me about?" Damien said, eyes focused to a flagpole in the centre of the park.

Evelynn turned to meet his burnt umber eyes and pried her lips open to speak.

"Damien, I need to ask you something," she uttered. Damien's response?

Nothing.

He just kept staring at the flagpole, urging Evelynn to go on.

"Do I ever cross your mind?" she began.

"No."

"Do you like me?"

"No."

"Do you think I'm pretty?"

"No."

"Do you want me to be with you forever?"

"No."

"Would you cry if I left you?"

"No."

"Would you live for me?"

"No."

"Would you do anything for me?"

"No."

"Would you choose me or your life?"

"My life."

Evelynn stood up to leave, bitter tears glossing over her eyes. She never wanted to see his face again. Natalie was right, Damien was a jerk.

Before she could even take one more strut away from him, Damien clenched onto Evelynn's forearm tightly.

"Listen, Evelynn," he said in the most sincere voice he could muster. "The reason why you never cross my mind is because you're always on my mind. The reason why I don't like you is because I love you. I don't think you're pretty because I you are beautiful. I don't want to be with you forever is because I need to be with you forever. I wouldn't cry if you left me because I would die if you left me. I wouldn't live for you because I would kill for you. I wouldn't do anything for you because I would do everything for you. I would choose my life over you because you are my life."

Evelynn's tears did stream, but they were happy tears. They were sweet tears.

She wrapped her arms around Damien and he pulled her in for a blissful embrace.

Both of them hoped this moment could've lasted forever.
