Hey peeps, I just wrote this to plan for the ELPA so yeah! :P It's just a paragraph long so far, but I will make it longer soon! <3

“Marcus!” I heard a feminine voice whisper to me in a sing-song tone. “Marcus you have to get up!” The mysterious voice continued. I wanted to open my eyes to see who it was, but my eyelids seemed to be glued together completely. As I tried to roll over in my comfortable, fleece covered double bed, it seemed like I was a rocking dinghy on rough, stormy waters. The amount of dizziness the simple movement had caused was very intense, and at that moment, I knew something wasn’t right. Just as I had forgotten about the world around me, the same voice I had just heard had started to project again. “Do you want to be late for school Marcus? Would your teachers be happy with you if you did that?! Come on, get up!” This time, the whisper incrementally raised to a yell.

“One… more… minute...” I said in a raspy, almost pain-induced tone. At that point in time, I felt like I was being cooked in a microwave, or even baking in an oven. I didn’t think much of my body temperature though, until, my worst fear came true. I felt a soft, cold to the touch hand lay upon my forehead. Being touched sent chills coursing through my body.

“Marcus, you’re burning up!” I heard the familiar voice exclaim with fear. I gradually opened one eye to peek at my surroundings and I saw my mom standing at the edge of my bed, her long red-brown hair enveloping my face. I was actually jubilant that I had a chance to stay home from school today, to be relieved of the stress and fatigue of a long day. I then glanced at my red calendar, and realized it was Friday January, 17th, the last day of school before exams.

“Mom… exam week is in… 3 days! I can’t just miss today!” My voice cracked in the middle of each word. With one swift movement, I pushed the two-toned red checkered blanket that covered me away, exposing myself to the true temperature of my room. Immediately, I could feel the overwhelming coldness of the air collide with my body. The icy sensation lasted for about a few seconds, until the extreme heat of my fever kicked in. I felt like a giant block of ice, slowly melting away to nothing but scalding hot water.
